Was Rodney taking a whizz on the zombie in the hole? That's total douchebaggery.

 

Yes (I guess his name is Rodney) and it was so disgusting. I was hoping he would drunkenly fall into the pit with the walker.

 

The question in my mind, is why the whole thing was needed anyway.

Was it to show:
these two new characters were assholes?
Henry wants to be included?
Henry is a good person who makes the moral decisions?
teenagers are stereotypical jerks?
people are bored at Hilltop?

Other than 5 minutes of airtime today, are they ever going to circle back to this group of people and/or this incident, other than the obvious “Henry learns his lesson,” allusions?

 

I'm thinking that maybe Addy will feature in the story again in relation to Henry. She seemed ok, unlike the other two.
I think this was just supposed to showcase some of Henry's character. I could have done without the annoying teen scene though.

 

I hate teenagers. Get off my damn lawn.

 

Mild comic spoilers:

 

My original thought of why these characters were inputed as well. However, they have Henry in trouble in the cell already. So I feel like they just did a cheap mini version of that whole arc with those few scenes right there.

Plus a whole thing with the Carl comic thing was Maggie, and her long deep connection with Carl/Rick. Henry doesn't really have THAT strong of a connection with anyone at the hilltop. Maybe if Morgan was there as leader that would work, but there is nobody there that would show strong favoritism like Maggie did with Carl.

I feel like this is as much as we're going to see as far as setting up for what's about to come with Henry.

 

I was hoping it was a whisperer who then said : dont piss down my back and tell me it's raining.

 

It is 8 or 10 years into ZA and these kids still act like pre-ZA. What a contrast with Judith.
Maybe it is parenting. Maybe Judith has Michonne to raise her.
Anyway, I would definitely put these teenagers to work. Kids at this age have tons of energy. Make them plow the field from sunrise to sunset and then see if they still have energy to fooling around or become bored.

 

Maybe a whispering like ''I will bite it off from you'' would be more scary.

 

I was assuming that Addy will be Henry's Sophia, in as much as they become friends. Henry will remember that of the three she chose to walk away from their game.

I knew I really wanted the two teens to die a painful death when they shared with Henry about how they used a cat for bait

 

Seriously. I would've chucked both of their sorry butts into that pit, covered it, then went and made a nice sammich.

 

I was thinking more along the line of... these kids don't know how bad it is out there. People have become more comfortable in their "safe zones" and won't have any idea on how to deal with the Whisperer herds when they come. Henry hasn't forgotten.

I think you're referring to when he first met Enid and her friends. Yes, quite similar, though the guys (stress "guys", 'cause the girl was actually kinda cool) Henry met are god-awful in comparison (yeah, one of them shot Carl, I know, but that was only after a series of unfortunate events).
