I was wondering if any of you use or know of a good steering wheel for racing games.
I was doing some searching & would like to hear first hand from some people that have them, or have used them.

I've used Logitech G27 and a Thrustmaster T500 RS. Both wheels were great fun to use. Here are some pros and cons for each...

    G27
    Pros:
+ Cheaper than the T500 RS.
+ The paddle shifters turn with the wheel.
+ Wheel is comfortable to hold and feels natural.
+ Smaller wheel is very easy to control.

    Cons:
    - Pedals feel a little delicate.
    - H-Shifter is quite flimsy.
    - Button locations aren't very intuitive.

    T500 RS
    Pros:
+ Very sturdy wheel can take a beating.
+ Metal pedals are very solid and can be mounted in either floor or suspended positions.
+ Buttons placement is sensible and clearly labelled.
+ Shifter is strong and can be set up as a H-Shifter or sequential shifter.

    Cons:

    - Larger wheel requires more movement to control.
    - Paddle shifters don't turn with the wheel.
    - Cost is higher than most other racing wheels.

Both wheels offer great force feedback and provide very accurate input while playing.

I prefer the G27 because the paddle shifters turn with the wheel, which is my preferred way to change gears, so the flimsy shifter isn't an issue. It's easy enough to be careful with the pedals and as long as you aren't slamming your foot down hard, you shouldn't have an issue with them. And being cheaper just seals the deal.

Of course, with the release of the G29, I'd pay the extra money for one of those over the G27...
