We lost 4 successive leaders all in one season. 3 of whom died. Who will step up?

My money is on Magna. Or will Maggie slip back into her old barn boots?

And will the curse of Hilltop Island continue?

I think Yumiko would make a great leader.
Maybe they don't know her well enough yet, but I think she's the best choice.
Or maybe a council, like Alexandria.
Yumiko, Alden, Connie, Earl, Kal, is Dianne living there now?

It's kind of funny and sad at the same time If Maggie comes back she'll learn that 2 of her stand in leaders are dead in Jesus and Tara and her medic Enid lol.

I'd imagine Magna. Which will be really weird considering she has only been in the show for maybe a few weeks to a month in universe. If she becomes leader it will really indicate how quickly the show is running out of its main characters.

I have no idea. I'm still in shock about the ending.

Have you not read the comic? It was playing out very similarly to the comic. Different characters died but the set up was about 90% the same.

It looks like the Kingdom has fallen given the preview for next week.

Could see Ezekiel leading until Maggie comes back. He's got the charisma to pull people through a trying time like this. I love Magna and Yumiko, but them stepping up and having a whole community fall in line behind somebody that has been there for maybe a month of their time wouldn't make much sense. It's why I can't see Daryl leading there either, he just really hasn't been around that long and isn't that vocal of a person.

Pretty much everybody at the Hilltop knows who Ezekiel is and how important he was for them all winning their independence from the Saviors. I think he's the man for the job. Could also see a "council" like Alexandria has done with names like Alden, Dianne, Earl Sutton, Kal, and a more major character like Ezekiel or Carol.

Not sure, should be an interesting development to see who goes where (between ASZ and Hilltop) of the Kingdomers.

They've been hinting at The Kingdom struggling to stay above the water since the time jump. My guess is they merge with The Hilltop, and Ezekial/Carol take over.

Meanwhile, Daryl and Lydia stay at Alexandria where Daryl eventually falls in as leader there.

Could be the other way around though with Daryl leading at Hilltop and Kingdom merging with Alexandria, but I have a hard time seeing Lydia being as welcomed in Hilltop. She's probably going to face some unwarranted persecution because of what just happened, not that Daryl won't have her back.

And I don't want to hear that Daryl isn't a leader. He is. And he will be.

With Jesus and now Tara being slain I don't think I would want to be the Leader of the Hilltop if I were an important character lol

But I can see Ezekiel (Kingdom if it's still around) and Carol (Hilltop) leading both communities in unison.

Ah, shoot. The first thing on Talking Dead, Chris said some people weren't able to DVR the last 25 minutes of this episode. That includes me. I even watched the AMC On Demand version and it didn't have the last 25 minutes either. But he said I can tape TWD rerun after Talking Dead, and it will include the extra 25 minutes. So maybe you all are right about Tara. MAYBE. :(

IKR? I didn’t get that last half hour either. My recorded version stopped after Alpha sat down in the theater and shushed Lydia.
My first thought was, what was everyone talking about pikes for? Nobody got piked. I really wish the episode had ended there.

I don’t think they will have to worry about who’s going to be in charge. I have a feeling that’s where the big herd is going to head to.

Yep, that ending was plenty scary. It felt like a proper ending for an episode.

Hard to say who the leader at hilltop could be. They're extremely lacking in candidates. Who even lives at Hilltop now? I like the idea of the kingdom merging with the hilltop. 2 struggling communities coming together to be stronger as a group kind of fits the theme of last nights episode

I don't understand why Hilltop hits bottom. That was already set up to thrive before the ZA even happened.

I agree. After seeing the previews for next week I could see Zeke and Carol taking the leadership reins at Hilltop

Hmmmm but Zeke and Carol may not be ready for such a task after losing Henry.

Would Aaron move to Hilltop to take on that role? Or even Eugene. Living among the Alexandria love triangle may prove to be an incentive for him to leave. Though I am not certain that leadership is in Eugene's DNA
