I think the story moves too slowly to make a good Moviefilm. It works as a creepy TV series, but Red Dragon's been done twice before. If there's no next season they should wrap it up in style at the end of this one.
I'm laughing so hard at this
And so it ends, what an absolute crazy ride that was! Season 3 was absolutely fantastic, of course the second half was the best batch of episodes, I can say it was by far my favorite version of the Red Dragon storyline put to screen. Mads and Hugh delivered great performances as always and Armitage left me in awe by his performance, and that finale! So glad the show went out on a high note, a beautiful masterpiece from beginning to end. A great show that will be dearly missed.
Meh. The artiness was interesting but also a little cloying after a while. The bromance was cute but a little overdone at times. The jump at the end totally messes with the continuity with Silence of the Lambs, but then so does crispy-fried Chilton. We were still wondering why either Dollarhyde or Graham let the other one go only to chase him down again. Strange. No 10 out of 10 for me, but I'd give it a solid 8 for taking some chances.
I can't believe it's over, but it ended on a high note, so I'm satisfied. I think the creators got to tell the story they wanted to tell and it was one of the most consistently good shows on TV. Though awards and ratings didn't acknowledge this, but I think because of the horror and artiness this show was never meant to become widely popular, not all people like that.
It was a great finale. I'm a little sad, that one of my favorite tv shows is over, but it really went on a high note. And with a song from Siouxie Sioux at the end . I'm a hugh fan of Thomas Harris books (except Hannibal rising - that book does not exist in my fluffy little world) and I liked how Mads Mikkelsen did portayed Hannibal Lecter - he may not have looked like bookLecter (neither did Hopkins or Cox), but he was very close in all other things. And Richard Armitage was a great Dolarhyde.
A great show that I really enjoyed, gutted it's finished too soon (unlike Dexter that went on too long). The last season was I think a TV master class of atmosphere and cinematography, although I'm unsurprised it wasn't a ratings hit as it wasn't exactly accessible TV either (some of the horror imagery was extremely gruesome). Hannibal and Will - a Kathy and Heathcliffe for the 21st century. RIP.
The bromance was the worst part of the show imo, kinda ruined both characters. That was my major issue with the show. Everything else was good.
Unfortunately, the bromance BECAME the show. Made Hannibal seem a lot more likeable, which is a dangerous thing in a story about a psychopath.
I don't think it made him likeable, it was just glorifying abuse and murder which is gross, they both were OOC several times for this.
