The ceremony the rabbi is performing is called Havdala, and it's performed on Saturday night, to separate the holly Shabbat from Sunday. So if his count is right, this starts on some Saturday, and the next day's events are on Sunday.

At the end of the episode he says there is still some time until Yom Kippur, which is around September. This doesn't tell us much, except maybe that they are closer to the next Yom Kippur than to the previous one, meaning they are somewhere between March and September.
