He got chomped on it looked like lol. Well he shouldn't have been screaming like that, I mean he had to known that the key to survival is being ninja like.

Saw it the moment the guy showed up in the first minutes.

 

Too dangerous. Strangers are dangerous. As much as it gutted me that he didn't pick him up, I totally get why.

 

I don't get why they left him either - could've been an extra guy for the fight, but I'm dying to see what was in the backpack...

 

I'm really shocked by it. Really, was it the right choice?? To just turn your back on someone like that?? Doesn't feel right. He was clearly running after them scared. Begging for help.

 

Strangers are always a danger in Apoc scenrarios.

 

Poor backpack guy i can't believe they left him awwwee i felt so bad for him;(

 

That opening sequence (and it's aftermath) made me super emotional, to just see how much Rick has changed. Season 1 Rick would have been all "stop the car we can't leave him out here!" but they've just seen too much, have lost too much and it's not the time to take the risk. Rick is so different now.

 

What happens to him? He was all in pieces

and that was really messed up.

 

Now the group especially Rick has realized that the living are more dangerous than the dead. They were cold toward the backpacker, but they reacted to him all the side glances. When the car was surrounded by all those dead they didn't have any reaction. Who didn't love the line? "Cover your ears."

 

When I saw that he was dead I thought that they should go and grab his backpack

When they actually did it I bursted out laughing

 

That sandwich sequence (beginning and ending with backpack man) really shows not only what this season is about (kill the dead, fear the living) but how Rick has changed. He is a man who will do anything to protect his family. Carl is becoming like that too, with shooting Morgan. Rick is no longer going to stick out his neck for strangers anymore.
