Same way Randall did. It doesn't take a bite to cause you to turn. The only requirement is to die. Probably something airborne infected everyone.

 

Doesn't matter if you get bit or not. It's a disease that flies around the world, just get killed and you'll become one.

Well, I guess it's pretty safe to say that everybody is infected. Thing is, it may, or may not have been what Jenner told Rick. Rick still doesn't act as if that is what he was told, or he would have taken care of Shane afterwards. Then again, maybe he was distracted by Carl before he could?

 

I think he was distracted by Carl before he could. I noticed he stayed there watching Shane. I think he was just very emotional the whole time, distraught and not thinking clearly.

 

Yeah I've been throwing around the airborne infection theory with my walking dead circle of friends but, they don't buy it.... guess this may prove them wrong First the two cops..then Randell and now Shane!!! Everyone's infected..Government population control that back fired!! Only other thing could be in something in the water like in Cabin Fever.

 

I already knew the brunt of it. I just don't ant to many specifics so i can watch it. I just can't wait to see Shane as a walker!!!

 

My guess is Rick is with holding this information out of fear of scaring and panicking people.

I can go with that. But why didn't he finish off Shane? I can go with he was distracted by Carl and a serious emotional wreck, but man, ya got to take care of business.

 

LOL Ya know, there was a moment that I almost felt sorry for him. I would have felt sorry for him too, if it wasn't en-light of what he tried to do, the scumbag. Yeah, he keeps people alive longer, some claim....Bleh! So that's why he decided to think with his wrong head and kill off a valuable man of arms, which he use to love like a brother.

 

I'm just glad Carl was the one to finish Shane..at least they didn't change that from the comic.

 

Ya, Shane lost it. Rick did the only thing he could do to stay alive and keep his family safe.

Shane needed to go at that point.

 

I honestly haven't seen the episode, on vacation and the hotel doesn't offer AMC

 

And this would differentiate his actions the other 99% of the time how, exactly? He's been turned into a bumbling idiot by the writers of this show.
