How did Strand get the key?

    How do you think he got the key to unlock he and Nick out of the holding cell? Was it part of the bargain he made with the military guy in the watch deal? It's almost as if Strand was put in that cell to keep him safe and he had a key the whole time so he could leave at the right time. He just knows too much to think otherwise.

    He said the military guy was his ride, when he was repo-ing his cuff links, so they had arrangements made long before Nick showed. He probably bartered other valuables to him for that.

    Yeah ...that's what the watch was all about. Strand didn't need the key anymore, or the watch; so that's why Strand told Melvin to keep it.

    Melvin must have wised up and figured he ought to get while the gettin' was good, and Strand was a lot more attractive than the military. Seemed like it was a popular idea, judging by the ones that took the SUV from the kids.

    cuff links for nick
    maybe a spot on the boat for melvin in exchange for a ride?
