As was already mentioned in this thread, Tara did not say: "All I saw was my sister and nephew" She said "All I saw was my sister in that field"

 

plus the guy in the bar (can't remember his name) in season 2.

They must have introduced each other after their escape from prison and before they came to the road where the walker attack took place.

I just listened to the dialog again. Could be that she says "in that field", but it sounds very much like "nephew". "Field" would make more sense than "nephew".

As far as the name exchange goes, I know it was not shown, but at some point they most likely told each other their names so they wouldn't have to go "hey you in the riot gear" or "you with the pig tails" when referring to each other.

I'm really glad that Glenn didn't call Tara by name during their scenes together, otherwise we'd have a whole bunch of other threads going: "How in the world did he know her name, because they never showed her tell him."

 

From now on they should show everyone poop, and waste 10 minutes of every episode, so they can be more realistic. This is just lazy writing.

 

I heard her say Nephew too,doesn't mean she said it but that is what I heard and noted at the time.
