Not basing this on politics, culture, P.C.-ness or anything but solely on the track record I've witnessed on TV.

When was the last time - or first for that matter - a (prominent) gay character(s) was evil or had a sinister agenda on TV? I presume never obviously by rhetorical question.

I say the track record stands and the Alexandria group turns out to be benefactors. Like Ganai said during TD episode, every group you run into can't all be sinister i.e. gov'ner's, terminus. You are bound to find a group like yours that gives everyone a fair shake.

    Why not this group?

Although, it would be quite a momentous TV moment if the Aaron character turned out to be evil, which I wouldn't mind either way though cause strife is what we watch this show for anyways, right?

If you read the comics then just keep it to yourself.

The guy playing Aaron… I'm not sure how he'd go as a bad guy. He's got too much of a "nice guy" demeanour. Could be interesting to see a gay villain though.

I never watched Breaking Bad, but wasn't Gustava Fring a villain?

There were two gay (sort of gay. It's confusing and complicated) bad characters on The Following.

Im not sure whether Gustavo Fring was gay.

Watch it after you play the games. I just finished watching it last week. It's pretty good.

Yeah that's what I was thinking - plus in Dexter there was a 'villain' that was gay too. And also in The Wire.

So it has been done. But I agree with Batmans Hooker, that he has a nice guy vibe - and that's why he was chosen for this role - and not the role of Gareth we he did also audition for.

Do you really think you'll have the games finished that soon? Bear in mind they'll most likely have a third season out by then.

And let's not forget in a real world ZA, I'd be a villain.

I'd be running a prostitution ring, ****ing a crazy nutcase, and having him kill people who annoyed me.

So ya, we can be just as evil and insane as the straighties.

    WARNING: SPOILERS FOR BREAKING BAD

Judging by his reaction to his (business) partner's death many years ago and the love he obviously still feels for this man and his determination to destroy everyone involved in the man's death I think we can surmise that his feelings for him go beyond just friendship. However it is not made explicit that Gustavo Fring is gay in any way. But it is consistent with the character that he is secretive and presents a false public persona in his interactions with every single person he has dealings with.

I think that there are good reasons for arguing that Fring is a purposely closeted gay man operating in a highly macho Latino culture.

However I could understand if someone missed all this and argued that he was not gay, he's just pissed that his BFF, a guy he obviously trusted (and he doesn't trust anyone) got smoked by these arseholes and wrecked his initial plans for a drug empire and that's enough to motivate him to take out the Mexicans. And that Fring shows no explicit evidence of being gay unless you're one of those types that claims that being fastidious evidence of gayness.

So I can see arguments for both the gay and non-gay position. Such is the brilliance of Breaking Bad's characterization.

What's your argument for that, beyond mere assertion?

he certainly was. Gustav was an amazing villain, cold as ice. but i don't remember any indication or mention that he was gay, or anything about his sexual/romantic life at all.
also you need to watch breaking bad asap. it is one of the most flawless examples of truly great dialogue and character development in a tv series

And I'd ask you too. What's your argument for that, beyond mere assertion?
