    I just have a problem with the idea of a base like Fort Benning being over run. There's too just much fire power and organization for a bunch of brain dead walking corpses to wipe them out.

    This. I thought of this at the CDC with the tanks, .50s and other heavy machine guns, plus grenades/explosives - there is just no way they could have been overrun, I would think. But that's TV drama...

    Perhaps when the outbreak became too much for the army to handle, there was a mutiny: Men abandoned Ft. Benning to be with their families, leaving too few men to defend the fort, regardless of firepower.
