OK OK but I forgot how I'm supposed to know that Daryl and Merle are not in the comics if I haven't read the comics.

 

Michael Rooker is a great actor, love him. But I'm not a fan of Merle and I could care less when, how, or why he dies.

Is it just me, or is he TRYING to act like the Governor? He seems to be attempting to use the Governor's brainwashing scare tactics. They are damn weak. Too bad he isn't going to be around much longer to work on that!

 

There is a whole world (granted it has a greatly reduced population) out there of bad guys to explore. Trust me when I say one less Merle in the world isn't even a start.

Go back a bit, he was begging them before they left him on the roof. Then he begged God for a bit, blubbed a bit and then he cut his hand off cos he had no other choice in case those Wlakers got through the door. So yes, this man, when he is desparate and about to die will beg. He only seems tough now because he holds all the cards, but when he's up against it in very dire circumstances where death is inevitable, he will beg. Simply because he will think he can 'con' them into helping him so he could then turn on them again. To trick them. Any man no matter how tough he seems, if a herd of walkers is bearing down on you and someone could help - he will beg them to help. He won't just lie there quietly while they eat him..

 

Yeah, that was my idea before - I think it would be great.

 

You can't take real world emotions into an apocalypse. They have grown apart like strangers. As I understand it he was bully to Daryl anyway. And Daryl's family is his group now. His view of his brother if he learns what he has done - should change 100%. If I saw my brother after what he had done to people who had been in my group or saved my life or were involved in keeping one another alive and I saw he had beaten and tortured them. I would be sad, say sorry first and shoot him second without hesitation. Evil is evil, no matter if it's blood or not. And no one will ever hate Daryl (perhaps only you) for doing something good.

 

You're banned, so you won't read this, but I'm not the only one who would hate Daryl for doing that. Claiming "no one" would be against that "except me," is ignorant. You don't know how everyone feels. I certainly don't either, but I know murdering your family member would be tough, even if you hated them. There are so many people on the planet who have terrible family members - family members who raped or abused them, or who just are racists, sexists, or jerks... any number of terrible qualities... There are people with family members who kill each other, or their pets, or other people. I'm betting many MANY of these people, who have these awful families, would still not want to be the one to kill those family members, because regardless of how "evil" the person is, they are still someone's father, mother, brother, sister, daughter, son, or whatever.

I have family members who probably deserve to die, but I wouldn't want to be the one to do it. I figure a lot of people probably have the same sort of thing going on in their families, and while some of them might want to be the one to kill their relative, I'm betting a lot of them would probably pass up that offer.

 

I think killing someone who isn't your relative is just as tough as killing someone who is, what makes the one related to you so special? A couple of % of similar genes?
Merle deserves to die, I'd feel the same even if he were my relative, I admit I'd rather have someone else do it, but that goes for everyone not just relatives.
