Is Dwight really comic Daryl?

    I've been really wondering this. I mean, here's all the things they have in common.

    Both are kinda rednecks
    Both have changed a bit, or at least Dwight appears to have
    Both have those vests
    They pretty much look alike
    Dwight used to be controlled by Negan in the way Daryl was controlled by Merle
    They have a crossbow
    Their names start with a D

    So I don't know, it'd be nice if someone asked Kirkman this question on Letter Hacks. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

    Their names both start with D but Eugene's only bitten one on the D.

    I wouldn't go as far as to say Dwight is the comic version of Daryl, but it's kind of hard to ignore the similarities. Kirkman probably used Dwight as a "Daryl-like figure."

    Dwight is Daryl if Daryl went to the dark side. I think if Dwight is in the story, he should steal Daryl's crossbow.

    I don't think they're the same character as much as Dwight is heavily inspired by Daryl. I think Kirkman figured it'd be pretty much impossible to translate a fan favorite show original character to the comics, so he took some elements from Daryl and used them to make Dwight. Perhaps after All out War Dwight will join Rick's group and slowly become more like Daryl.

    Like the idea of Dwight getting his bow from Daryl on the show lol

    That would probably mean TV Dwight would be the one to kill Daryl, how Dwight killed Abraham in the comics when he was introduced/mentioned whatever, having Dwight kill Daryl in the show would make his character seem that much more threatening having him kill one of Rick's most formidable men in the group, or Daryl could simply kill Dwight and get his bow back but hey anything is possible.....
