So imagine you are a Kingdom resident, you have kids born in the ZA (say old enough to appreciate a good movie), and you have a little clout with King Ezekiel about which movies are chosen for the fair...

What movie is a must see for your kids' first movie ever?

For me, I would probably be searching high and low for a DVD copy of the first live action Ninja Turtles movie (1990). A distant second might be the original 101 dalmations from the 60s or Pokemon: The First Movie.

It would depend on the types of movies on hand. Not many movie theaters use film anymore, so the pickings would be thin.

I don’t think any of the movies I liked as a kid would be “happy” enough for them.
    Bambi- his mother dies
    Snow White -evil witch
    Old Yeller - tragic ending
War of the Worlds - aliens
    Wizard of Oz- wicked witch

I suppose kids growing up in the ZA would think these movies were fairy tales.

Good point about the film. I had just assumed they were using a different projector that could hook up to a laptop and they could play DVDs. Totally forgot it's a theater projector.

Come to think of it, I think that might lower the quality, but I would prefer the lower quality if it meant a greater movie collection.

Chose carefully. Even this far into the ZA any of the Disney owned movies will cost a fortune AND someone from the home office will be there to collect.

I'm not even a fan, but you gotta go with Star Wars. The kids would go nuts.

The Lion King! There’s a little of everything. Circle of life too, which is an important message in the ZA. :p

I think I'd go with something older (which would be appropriate considering we're limited to film) so that the kids would identify with the film. Like a western - set in a time and place that resembles the life that they're living and would be more easily understood.

If I had one movie to show a group of young people that had never seen a movie it would be...

    The Princess Bride.

    Fun for everyone!
