Nice to meet you, Beta (finally)

    I must admit, I have struggled with this character up to now. For the painful lack of personality he's been showing, and the minimalistic writing the actor had to work with behind a permanent mask. But that has all changed for me in this episode. Give the guy Negan/Jeffrey to play with and this brilliant plot of "test him", and the personality has just begun oozing out of Beta. I can't believe how much I enjoyed their scenes together. On par with the hilarious moments of introducing Jesus to the show.

    Did this somewhat burlesque approach work for you?




    Negan arranging and rearranging the skin on the branch next to Beta's piece? Priceless.

    His face when he sees that "Beta's is bigger" and that slight adjustment and then looking all satisfied...lmao!!!!!

    I can't wait to see the whole thing!

    aaaand am I wrong or does Negan actually looks disgusted by the whole skinning process? I find that hilarious, lol!

    The beta and negan interaction was great. I really hope Maggie doesnt kill negan when she gets back because I feel like he is one of the best characters right now

    She had the chance to kill him last season and didn't. That's not happening. Negan is a great character.

    What is the actual purpose of the skinning? They wear masks and nothing else. Gross factor? Something to do?

    There was obviously this major whole group effort preparation for Negan’s new skin-long johns to cater for his humongous balls!

    Perhaps to use as added coverage to their twig shelters?

    Quasi blankets when sleeping?

    A means to contain water? If so, umm bleh.

    A one of kind poncho?

    I loved the scenes with Negan and Beta. I'm still not a fan of Beta, the character is too bland for me, but he is better, when playing with Negan/Jeffrey.
    About the Skin: I thought it is to make the masks fit, the backside of the masks - and maybe to give them a bit more stability. Some of the masks do look, as if they were made with more than just a zombie face imo.

    I dislike both characters but I got such a kick out of seeing them interact with each other. It really was funny, especially since Negan absolutely CAN NOT keep his mouth shut, lol.

    Negan and Beta's interactions reminded me of the old Warner Brothers cartoon of the Big Dog in I believe red sweater and the Little Dog that kept yappin' and yappin' until the Big Dog would pop him in frustration.

    Little Dog: "Hey Spike you wanna blah blah blah? Hey Spike you wanna blah blah blah? Hey Spike..."
    BLAM!
    Spike: "Shut up shuttin' up!"

    Edit: Oops Mandela Effect. Spike said "Eh" not shut up shuttin up that was the gangster dude with Bugs Bunny lol
