Ok, that worm eating scene was totally gross. But it did go to show just how primitive Alpha's group has gone. Eating a raw worm from the ground was bad enough, but when Lydia sucked the dirt off the one and then gave it to Henry I almost puked myself. And she didn't spit out the dirt; she basically ate it. I really want to see the Whisperer's camp now to get more of a visual on how they live.

I very much want to see the Whisperer's camp as well. I am curious about how they manage simple day to day things like eating and sleeping.

The worm is a bit of a throwback as well. Daryl ate a worm when they were starving on the road from GA to Alexandria. Another subtle reminder that he may more like the Whisperers than members of the established communities.

The worm eating scene was simply there to take the place of this scene

So sad we won't see that scene on the show. As a comic reader I was waiting for years for it to gross my wife out.

@HungryZombie Write to them on Letter Hacks about how disappointed you were that they didn't show an eye socket licking scene. That worm sucking just doesn't do it for you, lol.

Worm part seemed like a cheesy ploy at bonding on the writer's behalf.

    sorry!

I wouldn't call it cheesy. More shocking IMO. Especially with her sucking the dirt off the second one and then him eating it. Who in their right mind would want to kiss Lydia after seeing that?

No the worm part was in there because there are rules against underage actors having sex scenes on camera. Which was what was originally intended when the initial story for this was developed.

It's funny what we acclimate to. When Negan escaped the dogs by letting the walker though the door, I felt a twinge when I heard the dogs squeal as the walker was, I assume, eating it. I don't feel that when the humans get eaten.

@PepperAnn and @HungryZombie and @Dnae I think you guys are lucky that Lydia was being played by an underage actress. Better watch out though. The actress will be of age when they start filming season 10.

There's not much at all that grosses me out on the show now. Now matter how, disgusting, confusing or weird it's all part of TWD universe. Lol.

As for the dog getting eaten by the walker (we assume from the sounds), I can't believe a healthy looking dog can be caught and eaten by one slow plodding walker. Ain't gonna happen.

Since the walker would not feel itself being bitten or react to aggression, it would just keep coming at the dog relentlessly. I think a walker would easily take down a dog that was attacking it.

Nope. Not buying it. Walkers are way too slow.
