I just listened to a BBC documentary called Homer, Hagrid and The Incredible Hulk.
    Here is the synopsis:
"Ben Hammersley meets creators and fans to investigate how extended fiction universes, from Star Wars and Harry Potter to Game of Thrones, took over global culture."

I was excited that he interviewed Robin Hobb as I am currently binging hard on her books. It was good, thought lots of people here would find it interesting.

    Give it a listen!

I used to listen to artie lange's podcast. Artie is hysterical. ... I was listening to midnight in the desert, art bell's new show, but art bailed again. .. Alex Jones is always good for a conspiratorial laugh...

I think they've been around for a while but I just recently started listening to "Stuff you should know" with Josh Clark and Chuck Bryant - they cover a lot of topics and it's pretty entertaining. They even did one on how breastfeeding works and I gotta say, it was endearing to hear 2 dudes try to tackle that subject. Anyway if you're into podcasts check them out.

Back when I was working from home, I couldn't get enough podcasts. Maybe I should bring my earbuds to work at start them up again.

I can really only listen to them in the car because i can't focus on them while i'm trying to work...it just becomes background chatter lol. I never thought i'd see the day that i would forgo music in the car and listen to "talk radio". hehe. There are some REALLY good podcasts though!

OMG I have totally done this already since my Anti-Trump obsession. I used to HATE that Paul never knew the latest songs out because all he did was listen to talk radio. I have become Paul. LOL He would be so proud. :p

I have been raving about the Chernobyl podcasts over on this thread. But you should watch the 6-part mini series first, and I don't know if you have time to fit that into your life. That series btw is amazing. Everyone is raving about it. I bet it sweeps all of the awards this year.

I did watch the series yesterday, very sad all the way around. So many people affected and the Russian Government still has the official death toll at 31. I don't know why but I was amazed at the cover up of the entire disaster.

I haven't heard the podcast but will definitely put it on my list 'to listen to' list.

Oh! Excellent! I'm so glad you saw it.

Me, too. I was amazed at how this gave us the full force of what the cover-up meant. I knew they had done that, but the impact of it is so different now that I have seen this series.

It was hard to see how the disaster affected the first responders. And I was sad that Valery Legasov was driven to commit suicide. Seeing the pictures of the ghost town that Pripyat has become are sobering.

Have you seen that animals are thriving in Pripyat despite the high radiation level? That amazes me.

Yes! I love how the animals are surviving. Radiation--hey, better than a world of humans, is what I picture them saying to each other.

Legasov knew what was coming .... but I got so swept up in the story I forgot that that was the first thing we were shown, so it still kicked me in the gut.

TBH I thought they were going to kill him when they escorted him off after his testimony.

That's the theory, they are not being hunted so they are repopulating. Goes to show doesn't it?!

I heard it also helped that some of them have naturally short life spans, so they aren't as susceptible to having their genomes messed up by the radiation. Not sure if that's true, but interesting to think about.

I hadn't thought about that, but it does make sense.
