I could write a novel on why Shane is better than Rick, but I'll keep it simple.

    Rick is a naive wussy.

Shane would have killed off the prisoners first thing (which Rick should have), this would have eliminated the major "zombie outbreak" that cost people their lives.

If Rick wasn't such a wuss, his wife would still be alive.

When Shane said "I don't think you can keep them safe", he wasn't being a dick. He was being honest.

    And he was right.

PS: I also thought Rick was being a complete wussy/dumbass when he was talking to people on the Phone. Now it's evident that he's a complete psycho, but before that I thought he was VERY weak for assuming some random caller on the phone wasn't suspicious, and that they would actually have a "safe place".

    Rick is a failure.

    (u mad?)

    Shane should be the man.

And Shane would have gotten all of his group in danger. He was a loose cannon since the start of season 2

I'm calling your BS and I'll raise you a fact: Shane kept them safe for months before big daddy Rick showed up.

Rick gets them for .5 a season and blows it.

    The statistics speak for themselves.

I personally know who my money would be on to lead my group.

    ;)

(And I wouldn't have suffered the stupid idea of keeping the prisoners alive who are blatantly shady).

Sure, 2 of them are good, but that 1 bad apple cost his wife. Is that a good deal to you? (He also lost some key party members with his poor naive decision making).

Not really a troll, I think Rick has poor decision skills.

Are you saying that keeping the prisoners was a good idea? (lol).

Or that Rick talking to imaginary people on the phone and then begging them for help is a good idea?

    :/

There is one simple fact that should completely end this conversation...
    Rick= alive.
    Shane= dead.
He's gone, time to let it go.

The reason Shane went insane is cause he knew Rick was incapable of making decisions that would keep his family safe.

    And, he was proven correct.

Lol. I know Shane is dead.

I'm just saying, he was a better leader. That is all. You can agree or disagree, I've made my case; you can make yours.

Well, Rick is Shane, only Shane was more open about himself being a dick. Shane makes decisions quickly and is a bit brutal. Rick thinks it over for a long time - sometimes too long, and ultimately makes the same choice Shane would have (oftentimes.)

Shane's motto: "I'm going to be a total bastard and it's going to keep everyone I care about safe."

Rick's motto: "I'm going to try to do what's right and eventually I'll do just about exactly what Shane would have done anyway."

Everyone loves Rick and everyone (except Andrea) hates Shane, even though they are really REALLY similar.

Well he wouldn't be able to keep anyone safe since he couldn't save himself.
That's why they shouldn't bother with violently insane people.

I think Lori is more at fault for that, she should have just dropped all the drama, but instead she kept on saying "Omg I'm so sorry Shane" rofl. Way to bring up emotions in a stressful situation.

Remember when Shane was fixing the windmill (or whatever the hell he was doing lol) and Lori came and interrupted him? Lori would always do that; bring up feelings that were better left buried. Of course Shane went crazy.

No matter how you cut the mustard, Shane was about one thing; protecting his lady and his kid.

Meanwhile, Rick is out there playing good Samaritan.

Who would you want as your leader?

Someone who cares only about keeping you alive, or someone who is out there playing good citizen hereby endangering the group? The facts speak for themselves.

Correction: Carl was not his kid, not in any sense of any reality. Of course the guy was batshit insane, so.
I'd rather not have a leader that stabs people in the back literally because he can't control his childish emotions.

So for the sake of the argument let's say that Shane would be a better protagonist than Rick and actually could keep every member of the group alive....

That would make for some boring ass television.
