Anyone notice the scratches on Abe's hand as they drove away in the bus???? Now were they walker scratches, or just from the melee with the termites in the church???:zombies_confused:

I noticed the scratches, but can't say for certain how they got there. They didn't encounter many walkers this last episode, so doubt it's a scratch from one.

I don't think it matters. There is no evidence that scratches lead to zombies.

And, I don't think Abe is going to die just yet.

I didn't notice his hands. I think his tank top and mustache distract me too much.

Scratches don't give the bite disease , everyone would be dead by now lol. It doesn't really matter.

But they think scratched may lead to turning (when big tiny got scratched) but they know by now that cutting the bitten part works so they would have cut his hand off to be on the safe side...this may happen to replace rick losing his hand even though it happened differently

I'm thinking he's a hemophiliac. The cuts on him just don't heal. Granted he keeps punching things, but these are on the back of his hand. He's got to have some sort of clotting disorder.

Wait, wait. Maybe I'm totally wrong and a little tipsy but I could've swore scratches had the same effect as bites? Thought it was said multiple times on the show

Scratches are the same as a bite.

In 18 Miles Out at the Merr County Public Work the two police officers Rick and Shane kiled didn't have bites. They concluded that these officers had been scratched. This is before Rick tells the group everyone is infected and turns if they die..
Big Tiny was bitten, but tells them it's just a scratch. When he says this I think he was talking about the severity of the bite.
Didn't Rosita stitch the back of Abe's hand at some point?
I dont think getting scratched leads to infection. As much close combat and hand to hand they have with walkers, it's inevitable that some of them has been scratched and haven't turned.
No one's turn has been directly attributed to a scratch.

I got the impression the original injury was from the soup can beat down when he killed the peeps who attacked the wife, and he keeps reinjuring the hand from confrontations, and breaking it back open. Kind of a continual reminder of who he is.
