Did I hear correctly that the Season 10 finale won't be shown as scheduled due to delays in production caused by the Covid-19 issues?

The problem here will be that the longer it takes to finish the episode, the greater the chance that some idiot will leak the script and then spoilers will be everywhere. I hate when the net becomes a minefield.

Yet another reason why TWD should've had 10 episodes a season instead of 16. :p

I agree. It takes too much padding to get to 16. No way around it.

What’s wrong with a bit of padding?

Well, given current circumstances, I can see your point...

To be honest, I’ve never minded the extra padding on TWD. I love filler episodes. It’s easier on my nerves. ;)
Never minded being shown too much. I’ve only ever minded NOT being shown things I wanted to see.

Me too, I love that there are 16 episodes. More often than not, the episodes I hear being called uneventful or filler, are some of my favorites.

The problem is that the term “filler” is very subjective. We all come to a show with different expectations, we like different characters and themes and plotlines.

“Filler” supposed to mean an episode that doesn’t progress either plot or characters, and doesn’t provide anything worth noting that is essential to the overall story.

But in reality, the term “filler” is most commonly used for episodes that someone finds boring or annoying, because they focus on a character they don’t like or they have too much dialogue as opposed to “proper” action: fights, deaths, explosions, high suspense or a substantial (preferably naked) relationship development.

This is why we end up with one person’s filler being another fans’s favourite.

For my life I could not cross out a single TWD episode from the entire series catalogue for it being a “filler”. I have never found any episode or even part of it boring, and I genuinely like every character enough to be ok with them coming into focus for a while.

(To be honest, I would happily watch episodes of the characters just hanging out and going about their daily business with no drama whatsoever, just to see what “normal” feels like to them. In other words, a Mother of Fillers.)

AMC should run a classic episode of TWD each Sunday over the next few weeks to bridge people over until we have the finale. Run some of the big episodes, like the Pilot, Rick Killing Shane etc. It's not like AMC has anything better on their schedule right now.

May be just do a 24 hour long Talking Dead, have every dead actor come on the show via Skype, in chronological order to talk through the whole thing from S1E1 all the way till now with Chris the host not sleeping for 24 hours.
