Shane's girlfriend story

    I can't help it... I know the girlfriend/light switch story is supposed to paint Shane as a prick but it cracks me up. Especially when he mocks the girl: "You sound just like my damn father!" LOL

    And then Shane admits that he wanted to say, "Bitch, you're saying that you've been told this story all your life, and you're still leaving the damn light on!" :Grin:

    It's eerie how Shane and Rick's friendship, and Shane's relationship with Lori, were about to be changed forever within a few minutes.

    "Preacher Shane", lol.

    Since we're talking about this scene...did anyone else notice how exaggerated Shane and Rick's accents are in this scene? I was born and raised in Georgia and even I had hard time understanding certain lines. Thankfully they tamed the accent a little bit and it sounds much better now.

    I've always said that Lincoln's accent is a bit "off". It's certainly not bad, but sometimes it comes off a bit funny. We probably only notice it because we hear it everyday.

    Morgan's voice was funny at times too. "Di-ed you ge-it bi-et?!?". :zombies_lol:


    Speaking of the Rick/Shane car scene, i'm still amazed that they're sitting in a garage with blown up pictures around the windows of the car. Such an old school technique, but it's absolutely flawless.

    I've never been to Georgia, but here in Arkansas and in Mississippi and Louisiana there're people you can't understand because of their accents.

    Yeah, Morgan's was pretty funny and exaggerated too. He almost sounded more like a Kentucky or Tennessee native than Georgia. BTW, wasn't Rick originally from Kentucky in the comics?

    When I heard that on the commentary, I was shocked, it looked so convincing!

    No doubt, there are people like that here too....I just meant that theirs were different/stronger in that scene than the rest of the show. Plus, you don't want two main characters that people have a hard time understanding, lol.

    Yeah, he comes down to Atlanta from Kentucky in the comics, but I think they never mentioned where he lived in the show. IIRC, I think the King County Sheriff's logo says Georgia. Also the other police cars that help them with the chase in the first episode, but I can't remember the name right now.

    Yeah, he is definitely originally from Georgia in the show. Like you, I saw it on the patches and logo on the patrol car.

    The accents aren't bad for British people pretending to be Southern, IMO. I knew their accents sounded way too exaggerated, but I was suprised to learn that both Andrew and the guy who played Morgan were both British actors. :)

    That's the part that makes me love it. Maybe I'm a bitch, but I'd want to say the same thing Shane did. LOL

    I never saw him as prick, but as a guy fed up with the stupidity of the woman he was dating. and thanks to your thread I now wonder what happened with her.. did they break up before the ZA or did he just dump her when the ZA started. talk about wasted character building opportunity.

    and the light switch story was funny LOL
