    The similarity in farming makes complete sense. That's exactly what every group in the apocalypse needed to get to doing. Seeds have a limited life, so they need to plant and then save seeds from each crop for the next year.

    Every time a group loses a location, someone should grab the seed stores to plant at wherever their new home turns out to be.

    Pretty soon people would be stumbling over neglected vegetable gardens hopefully self-reseeding a bit wherever they go. Like Johnny Appleseed. Unless weevils really make that impossible in that part of the world.
