I don't get that either. My guess is the story sucked so they went back to the drawing board. I still don't get the emphasis swapping to Michonne in place of Clem though. I didn't read the full release but maybe there are 2 separate teams working on them.

 

I like this idea. I just hope the story is at least Kirkman approved, if not partly Kirkman created, if they are making this canon.

 

HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!! YES! THIS LOOKS AMAZING! At first I was like, oh, they're telling more of Michonne's backstory, but then it said "explore gap between 126 and 139" and I was like OMFG!!!! This is going to be so good and I'm glad they're doing this. Way to make Michonne's year-long absence worth it. And maybe we'll get a Rick or Ezekiel cameo. But who knows. Telltale has never made a big connection to the comics before, other than Glenn and Hershel, and that was a minor thing. It's good to see them branch out, because it's a logical step. But this is going to be great, I'm so stoked.

 

Also, I'm still of the opinion that we might not need to see Clementine again soon. The game had 5 different endings, and most of them had a reasonable amount of closer. It was reasonable move on TellTale's part to make Clem the main character of season 2 after we cared about her so much in season 1, but she's been through a lot of shit for an 11-year-old girl, and making a season 3 with a story for her that's as dramatic as the first 2 might be a bit of a stretch. There's no reason TT can't focus on another character for their next game. I'm not saying we shouldn't see Clem again, but maybe she's eared some rest, like a multiple-year time skip. And they might not want to rush to that because they don't want to go too far into the future.

 

Nah, I heard they aren't releasing season 3 till 2016 a while ago. It's fine. It means they might be working hard to keep Kenny alive.

This sounds amazing. I'm really looking forward to what Michonne was up to during that time. They did mention it briefly in the last issue in how Carl's disappearance was different from Michonne because they don't know where she is.

 

A bridge to next season? Nah, man. I'd be willing to place bets that this will be entirely unrelated to season 3.

 

I think we have part of our answer as to why TWD Season Three isn't coming out until 2016. Episode one of that season is going to be technically difficult because of the multiple different story possibilities, so they probably said 'let's push that back and do a Michonne miniseries in the meantime'.

 

Wait... Why is she carrying a machete? Telltale have seen a katana before, right?
