Good point. Folks seem to be assuming they died, but Randall's group were common raiders, not Reavers ala Firefly. If they survived, I hope their father would not have killed himself. This guy was likely an unrelated suicide.

Anyway, Randall's group does not seem to have spent any significant time in that area (practically in earshot of Hershel's farm), and Randall described the incident as one that happened some time ago. It could have been in a different state for all we know.
