Why exactly are we training Saudis on our military bases? Fifteen of the 19 terrorists in the 9/11 attacks were Saudis. The Saudis murdered and then butchered a US journalist.

Why were both Trump and Pompeo putting out statements about the Saudis before the terrorists had even been identified?

It makes no sense to me, that's for sure. OTOH, if I said I was against it, I'm sure I'd be called an anti-Muslim bigot and a racist for saying so, so there you go. Maybe our military guys are in the same boat. They don't want their careers to be over for "discriminating".

ok, this is pretty inane, but I thought it was a bizarre mistake for the paper that wrote it.

"The Saudi national who killed three people during last week’s shooting spree at Naval Air Station Pensacola filed a complaint against one of his instructors earlier this year alleging that he had called him “Porn Stash” – a nickname that “infuriated” him, a report says."

    https://www.foxnews.com/us/pensacola-naval-instructor-porn-stash

When I read that I first thought his sergeant caught him with a big pile of pornography, hence the nickname. Then I saw his picture

and realized the paper should have written something like "porn 'stache" short for porn mustache.

And btw, not liking a nickname is no excuse for murdering three people.

Some nut with a gun went on a shooting rampage in Thailand.

    "
NAKHON RATCHASIMA, Thailand — A soldier with a grudge gunned down 26 people and wounded 57 in Thailand's worst shooting spree before he was fatally shot inside a mall in the country's northeast on Sunday, officials said.

Officials said the soldier was angry over a financial dispute, first killing two people on a military base and then went on a far bloodier rampage Saturday, shooting as he drove to the mall where shoppers fled in terror."

Some psycho drove his van into a tent full of Trump supporters. Luckily no one was killed.

    "
The 27-year-old Florida man who police say drove a van into a tent that housed supporters for President Trump reportedly arrived in court on Sunday smiling and nodding to the cameras before he was seated, a report said.

Action News Jax reported that Gregory Timm, according to witnesses, ran over chairs and tables the day before at the Kernan Village shopping center. Witnesses told the station that he recorded the scene moments after the incident, made an obscene gesture and sped off."

Putin is up to his KGB past again.

    "
A Vladimir Putin critic has been found with his throat slit in what police are calling a "politically motivated" assassination in a French hotel.

Imran Aliev, 44, was found lying on the ground with "multiple wounds" in his chest and his throat slit with a bloodied knife next to it.

Aliev has been a strong critic of Vladimir Putin and Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov on his popular blog and youtube accounts for years, working under the pseudonyms of Mansur Stariy or Old Mansur."

Another mass shooting, this time in Colorado. 10 people dead and the suspect is in custody.

The suspect's name is Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, and he's listed as being 21-years-old . You have to wonder if the guy is using someone else's ID though, the pictures I've seen of him were from behind, but he looked balding and fat, and closer to 40 than 21. I suppose we'll see.

Very, very telling that you post this shooter in the terrorism thread, but the white man who murdered 8 people (6 of them Asian women) in Atlanta you just skate right on by. Why is that, Morgotha?

I didn't post on the massage parlor shootings because I was on vacation. I posted on this one because I'm back.

Why post this on the terrorism thread? Because I don't have a "mass shooter" thread. I was initially going to post it in the "Cataclysm" thread but it didn't seem like a cataclysm. "Domestic terrorism" fits mass shootings the best, IMO.

LOL, those monsters you see? They're in your head. They're certainly not in mine.

Here's something else on the Boulder guy, or rather on our government. This man was being watched by the FBI, but was still able to buy an AR-15! He had to get a background check to buy his gun, WHY would the FBI allow the sale of an "assault rifle" to someone they were watching? o_O What is the *purpose* of the government performing these checks if not to stop people like this from buying guns?

    "
The suspected gunman who killed 10 people in a mass shooting at a Boulder, Colo., grocery store this week was previously known to the FBI, according to a report.

Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, a 21-year-old from the Denver suburb of Arvada, was linked to another individual under investigation by the bureau,
The New York Times reported Tuesday, citing law enforcement officials. No further details were reported.
    ...

Alissa had bought an AR-15-style rifle on March 16, six days before 10 people, including a police officer, were gunned down Monday at a King Soopers grocery in Boulder, according to an arrest affidavit. It was not immediately known where the suspect purchased the weapon."

This is why we need better background checks for gun shop owners. And they should be held liable if they do not do a thorough check.

The gun shop owner who sold the Pulse nightclub shooter his guns, said that the background check did not show that the guy was on the “No Fly” list, and that he was being watched. He said if his system had provided that information, he would have never sold him the guns.

So you can’t blame the FBI if the Boulder shooter bought a gun at a shop that didn’t have a better background check system.

The point is that it is the U.S. government that performs the background check, and it's ALSO the U.S. government that employs the FBI. If the government says they are trustworthy enough to decide who can and can't buy guns then the government should be required to have their various organizations and departments *share information* well enough to where the background checks actually do some good.

In 2016, right before ending his governor term, Rick Scott wrote a bill for a more thorough background check. AR 15s are suppose to have a 10 day wait.
The thing is, the state of Florida never actually put the bill into effect.
Stores are only allowed to check to see if the person has a criminal background. (that’s all they checked my brother for).
Again, can’t blame the FBI, if our senators and congress people don’t put a better bill in place.

If those who knew him are correct, then it is a possible hate crime that led this kid to violence.
He was being treated horribly because of his last name, and being a Muslim.
