Were those the people that died while at the hospital? That would be a huge amount of people!

Yes, you could actually make out some long bones and skulls, and I think I saw a peter.

If so, I didn't notice it. But there was a little girl's doll sticking out of the ash. Someone should do a photo comparison and see if it was the doll the girl was holding in the window when Nick was trolling for drugs at random windows. ;)

I thought I saw that too. The camera lingered on the pile for a while, and it looked as if one skeleton was missing a foot. It was on the opposite side of the pile from Ofelia and Daniel, though, so they wouldn't have seen it.

I think you're right. When I saw it I was trying to remember where I'd seen it before.

They also did not know at that point that Griselda's foot had been removed.

But they did have Liza's statement that there was nothing left of her to see.

Is it just me or was Griselda looking a little ashy?

I was praying that they didn't have Ofelia and Daniel find Griselda in the pile, and for once the t.v. gods granted my prayer.

I thought they had burned the bodies and dumped them in some kind of concrete or what. Then again, I haven't seen ashes before.

Wow, I had forgotten that. Griselda is an unusual name to come up twice.

And there's the leg which some people think is Griselda's. It wouldn't make sense though. The leg seems to still have some flesh on it [or at least clothing] to the knee, and then the tibia is intact. When they amputate a leg, they cut the bone too, :p. If it was Griselda, we should see a severed mid-tibia. What we are seeing here is just a tibia separated from the tarsal [foot] bones, which would naturally fall off once the ligaments and tendons are gone.

On a first watch, I thought the leg on the left was missing a foot. But on a rewatch, I think it's just buried in the ash. I guess I was trying to figure out why the camera lingered, and my brain played a trick on me. Now I realize we were supposed to notice the doll (I think?).

The doll is also at the top of the pile, implying that she was one of the last to die, which we didn't see, and the doll isn't burnt implying a huge step forward in doll making technology. Put those two improbabilities together and it's 100% certain that it's the little girl's doll.
