Ok, just had a thought, but I wasn't able to catch it. Did anyone see the color of the baby's eyes, and know what color Rick's are and Shanes?

They may have shown something that we all missed when Rick was holding her.

Babies eyes change color, often several times before they are one year old. Many Caucasian babies are born with blue or gray eyes that later turn to brown, or even green by the time they reach their first birthday. It all depends on the amount of melanin they have in their body at various times during their first year.

I thought I saw brown. Shane's are brown and Ricks are a European blue

I doubt it. It's a baby and casting is rarely done that well.

I agree..not to mention, that "barely a week" old baby looks like 4 months old one...

I think its because its hard enough to get a baby on a show, even more so a newborn.

Yeah it was a thought. Since Rick started freaking out there, I wasn't sure if we missed something that told him it's Shanes. They can get clever...

At least we're given a real baby and not just a wad of something wrapped in a blanket. But it's too soon to tell. I think he was just coming back down to some form of reality.

She could have her brown eyes from Lori, but eye colour doesn't really tell much anyways.

Do you know how dangerous a set would be for a week old baby?

Little babies cant go under the lights

Even little kids cant be on the set very long so they use twins for lots of movies/shows, like the example everyone knows is Mary Kate & Ashley on Full House

Could still be Shane's because two brown eyes can have a blue. Blue is recessive so two blues can have only blue eyed babies.

Beth said to Rick that the baby had Lori's eyes. I believe her eyes were blue. But let's consider a few things:

    1. Babies eyes always start out blue, then change color. There are cases when they start out brown meaning they are going to have pure dark eyes when they get older.

    2. If Judith truly has blue eyes that means its a recessive trait. Rick and Lori both have blue eyes. So the baby is going to acquire both genetic traits of blue eyes.

    3. BUT ... if its Shane's child (and his eyes are brown - IN the show) then the baby's eyes would either become brown or would currently be brown as brown eyes are dominant over blue.

Of course ... this may have nothing to do with the comics at all, as I'm basing it on the eye colors of the actors. I don't think my asessment is accurate, but its worth a shot.

If Lori had blue eyes and Shane had brown eyes the baby could still have blue eyes because Shane could carry a recessive blue eyed gene that he passed on :)

Well Jesse Katsopalis and Becky Tanner were both very brunette with brown eyes and plopped out two blonde haired blue eyed boys. Just saying.

Eye color has realistically little to do with anything, but I wouldn't be surprised if it counts in the show.

I might be wrong, but maybe we're overlooking the simplicity of this -- there's no significance.
