That's all I heard. Is there another scene I may have missed? I haven't watched it again in it's entirety.

 

After Rick cuts Negan's throat, and he has all the saviors put their arms down he makes a little speech about how the walkers are the real enemies now. He says something like "they're coming for us," or "it's coming for us," and it may have been more metaphoric than literal like i took it lol. They cut to the herd real quick and i thought it looked like they really were coming in that direction.

 

@Reina it's at about 1:45, and i could see the walkers much better on my TV. Even so, I think my mind just came to that conclusion on my own lmao.

 

Yes, you are right. He said: We are life, that is death. (pointing to the herd) And it's coming for us! Unless we stand together.

Huh. I don't know how I missed all this lol.

 

It was another dang speech! If you're like me, you probably experienced the auditory equivalent of your eyes glazing over the moment it started - LOL!

 

It was a good moment for one though - I loved it.

 

And when you think about the horde redirection scene and the time jump in general, it makes you wonder: will they be teaching a lot of the actors who maybe have never ridden a horse before, to ride? Most of them travel by horse after the jump.

I'm picturing Josh, Seth, and Xander, out on their horse training session, like:

"Whooooaaaaaaa WHOA! Ouch!"

"Your horse keeps bumping into mine! Agh...eeeeee"

"Left. Whoa! Left Left!"

"You don't say 'left' dumbass"

"hahahaha Xander's horse is doing a dump!"

"hey, look, I can control mine better by pulling on these really short reins!"

"THOSE ARE ITS EARS!"

"my horse doesn't even have a head!!"

"you're sitting backwards!!"

"omg, guys they are getting jittery, guys' we're gonna fall!! whoaaaaa!!"

"I heard that music calms them!! Someone needs to start singing!!"

"ok....uhhhhhh.......You spin me right round baby.....right round like a record, baby, right round right round....you spin me right round baby, right round like a record baby....."

"omg, their getting worse!! Mine's gonna buck!! This song has the wrong tone and tempo for the said purpose!!"

"ok, follow my lead!!.... Who would've thought that a boy like me could come to this....OH...I just died in your arms toniiiiiight....

And then Josh's horse suddenly takes off at full speed and he's hugging the horse's neck "ohh noooooooo AGGGGHHHHHHH!" and he slips down and ends up with his head by the horse's stomach and his feet straight up in the air as he rides off into the sunset.

LOL.

 

Ya that's what I was thinking, they have an immediate threat at this point. I think they will be dealing with them soon though. Well, in 6 months.

 

I took it literally too.

 

I'm buzz now that the horde was the whisperers.....dear zeus. But it seems to be already debunked:

Is that massive herd we saw and Rick referenced near the end of the episode an intentional hint of the comic book villains the Whisperers and what may be coming in season 9?
I think the intent with that was to show that if they continue fighting amongst themselves, there will be nothing left to survive. So it wasn’t necessarily a reference to the Whisperers. It was more a reference to that there’s still an enemy out there, and it’s a common enemy, which is the army of the undead.

I have stopped reading the comics so I’m curious as to why a massive horde could mean the whisperers are coming...?

 

They may not be too worried about this herd because it does look like there seems to be a cliff separating them from the walkers

I guess the reasons people might think that is that the whisperers lived nomadically and roamed around in big groups wearing their masks, and also because they kept a horde of 1000's of walkers in a fenced in area to use as camouflage and as a possible weapon.

 

I think those are actually trees in the foreground there. Two yellow ones in the front, and a bunch more green ones behind.

 

I think i see what you're talking about, but to me it just looks like the tops of trees...

 

I suppose it could be yellow trees, or what is suppose to be yellow trees, but it looks like rock to me.

The leaves are blurry, making them look weird. But if you look close you can see that they cover up the trees behind them. They rise up from the ground and block what is behind them. And the one on the right you can actually see a few branches branching off from each other.
