That intro was seriously one of the creepiest intros I've ever seen. The music and the sound from the stove or whatever (too tired to think now) was just really well put together. I seriously thought something would pop up at the screen (like a walker or something) as the sound just got louder.

    Great episode, great acting. 10/10

I liked the intro too....it was actually quite Darabont-esque. The music and 1950's rural home setting are totally Darabont. Also, the intro went back to the style of early TWD, where the intros were actually a clip of a scene from later in the episode, instead of being chronological with the rest of the episode. Maybe we will go back to this trend.

it reminded me of a season 2 opener where they sometimes opened with some future scene that the episode would then build to reveal how it came to be. Like shane shaving his head, or randall, rick and shane with the zombies

I thought the song they chose to play for the intro, while Lizzie romped and played with her new best friend in the background, was perfect. Very haunting, and added a chill, as well as a deep sense of loneliness, to the atmosphere.

    Maybe

Maybe you'll think of me when you are all alone

Maybe the one who is waiting for you will prove untrue

    Then what will you do?

Maybe you'll sit and sigh, wishing that I were near

Then maybe you'll ask me to come back again

    And maybe I'll say "maybe"

It reminded also me very much of the Milton and Mr.Coleman scene in Season 3.

The first thing I thought of was Fallout 3. It was very creepy seeing Lizzie laughing and playing tag with a walker. It really set up the episode well.

Song was in opening of the first fallout game. Most of you young whippersnappers probably never saw that game.

Yes, it was! Glad more people here thought of Fallout when they watched the intro! I'm not old or anything and have only played Fallout 3 and New Vegas, but I did watch Fallout 1 intro once.

The intro was one of the creepiest things I've ever seen on TWD. I'm easier creeped out by this kind of psychological horror...

I think there's been a few good intros recently - I liked Bob's "pre prison" flashback last week - and Beth's diary extract...:zombies_nosmile:

Definitely a great intro. Kinda reminded me of an old post-apocalyptic movies. Whoever had that idea (Nicotero, since he was a director for this episode, director of photography or someone else) did a good job.

I actually thought for a little bit that it was a pre ZA flashback since they had the stove running which really confused me. And the zombie could be mistaken for someone playing...?

thankfully this forum enlightened me about propane ovens so I'm prepared now for next time :)

    great intro!!!

I just came here to click likes for all mentions of Fallout. But something's not working right and I can't see the likes I clicked.

"How many likes can Rick Grimes click if Rick Grimes can click likes?"

How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

Darabont's episodes were more of an intro than clips from later on. Darabont quit by the time the second half of the 2nd season aired (maybe if was the 3rd or 4th episode even). I think yeah, it goes back to older episodes but just wanted to clear that up, those episodes are more than likely gimple's or mazzarra's.
