How do you come to conclude that the 5 wolves had a rifle?

I bet you misinterpret the situation to believe the wolves had a rifle due to Rick's picking up the AK rifle next to the 2nd dead wolf. That AK rifle wasn't the 2nd wolf's but Rick's.

 

To build on the above; The only weapon the wolves picked up was a pistol from a dead Alexandrian after leaving Morgan.
