Just watch the very first episode on the new Disney+ streaming service.

I was almost completely burned out on all things Star Wars ever since Disney took it over. The new trilogy is horrible. Solo was underwhelming. The new "Star Wars land" at Disney was just too much in-your-face commercialism. As far as I was concerned, the only positive things about Star Wars in the last 20 years, was Rogue One and the Knights of the Old Republic video games. Everything else has been garbage.

Until now. The Mandalorian was amazing. Just a good down and dirty "space western" with good acting and a good story. The right amount of action and dialog No talk about The Force, or light sabers or Jedi either. THANK YOU!!!

They even left you with a reasonable teaser for what's to come, not some over-the-top jaw dropping cliffhanger like what happened on Heroes or Lost EVERY WEEK! It was refreshing.

If you have Disney+ this is worth a watch

Episode 2 was fantastic! Those little Jawas are stone cold thugs. I don't care if I'm the only person here watching this show. I will be avenged.

I'll watch at some point, I'll probably wait to binge and only suscribe for a month. Don't know what else could be worth my time on there, and I already have Prime and Netflix....

Mandalorian is absolutely the best show on television this season. It has great production values for TV and it's storytelling has just the right mix to get casual Star Wars fans interested as well as putting a good amount of lore in that the more hardcore fans will eat up.

I have a feeling this show will bring about a change in how tv shows are made. They will stop enforcing a specific amount of episodes and time that the story has to work around and instead will let the story dictate how many episodes are needed and how long those episodes will be. There aren't really any shows on television that need 16-22 hour long episodes to tell their specific story so as a result about half of the episodes we get end up being nothing but filler.

Indeed. I like this "premium television" trend and I hope it continues. Netflix has captured that a bit with Stranger Things and some other shows. HBO captured it with GoT (until the final season).

But I like the idea of cutting out the fat and getting down to the brass tacks of a story. We don't need 30 side-plots to tell a good story. We don't need to introduce 30 new characters (like TWD) either.

The Mandalorian is running 8 episodes at roughly 35-40 minute each, and there's no fluff or filler. I really like it.

This last episode (Episode 3) was very intense and action packed. 10 out of 10.

Yep. Did you watch the Star Wars animated series over the past several years? Those two shows give a lot of background on the Mandalorian culture and this series is further expanding on that. The person that made those two series is one of the showrunners for Mandalorian and Jon Favreau also voiced one of the Mandalorian characters in Clone Wars.

I've watched both Clone Wars and Rebels. Great shows.

Yep same here. The new show also seems to be bringing in a lot of pre-TCW Mandalorian lore. There were a lot of books about Mandalorians already prior to TCW and they were heavy into adopting people into the culture back then. This show seems to be getting back to that a little more where as TCW dealt more with pacifism vs a genuine war culture.

I think it may have been more Lucas's idea to bring in the pacifism storyline than it was Filoni's.

I've read some of those books and there's also a lot of Mandalore.... lore, lol, in the STAR WARS: KOTOR games, which I loved. Unfortunately a lot of that content is not considered canon anymore.

I was confused with the pacifist angle from the animated series because it went against other works and it wasn't as cool as their warrior culture. I am glad they are going back to that with this series.

The Kenobi tv series starts next year too.

Yep and a Cassian Andor spy series is in the works also. And with how well Mandalorian seems to be doing you know they will be announcing more series come Star Wars Celebration time next year.

Ep. 4 was a slightly slower paced episode and its purpose seemed to be to show off other areas of the galaxy other than the bounty hunting sections. Cara Dunne was great (she'll probably be back again before the end of the season) and the one village lady that had a key role in the episode I think did a good job and I think they handled the kid characters well.

Not as awesome as the previous episodes but I still really enjoyed it.

I thought it was a great episode. I'm obsessed with baby Yoda.

What I liked about this episode in particular, was that while it was slow, it fit with a classic western tv theme of the hero(s) saving the local town folk from a greater force of bad guys and teaching them out to fight back. I hope they don't do this often (like some other shows have) but it's a good plot to tap into every now and then.

I finally got around to watching the Mandalorian recently. I really soured on Star Wars after the last trilogy so I didn't want to see anything from them for a long time.

I love this show. Have only watched through episode 2 of Season 2 after racing through the first season quickly. I was surprised how short the episodes were, but it works because the story moves forward at a nice pace and the production of each one is top notch.

I like how we get to see things like the Tusken Raiders in a bit more depth in this show. It makes the whole Star Wars universe even larger and more interesting.

It's really funny at points too, the last episode I saw was where they were crashed and Baby Yoda started eating the frog eggs they were transporting. The entire episode was hilarious.
