I don't like her shoes. There are stiletto heels, and then there's just being silly.

Oh, I believe you, the DMV can't do anything right. They get my age wrong *every time*!

I adored the detailing on Diana's wedding shoes, and they have a practical, low heel besides.

Hee hee, it's unrelated, but years ago we went out to dinner with a new colleague and his wife, whom I had never met. She was apparently a beauty queen at some point, and wore a tiara to dinner. That's a bit out of my every-day experience, and I must admit it was a bit hard to talk normally without staring at the tiara. Seriously, how many people out there actually *wear* tiaras?

Okay, so who do you think will walk her down the aisle since her dad won't be there? I'm going with she will walk by herself...

I think her mom before that? It's a long walk, even for someone with aplomb. Some guessed William, which I thought was really sweet.

Princess Diana seemed taller somehow, and I can see her wearing flats so as to not look like she was towering over Charles. And those are very nice shoes.

I remember I kept imagining she would pull out her "Miss Kansas" ribbon and put it on. The more I tried to not think about it, the more I couldn't stop thinking about it.

Trump has less than zero odds.

I don't really care who walks her down so long as it isn't her deadbeat brother. Her mom would be nice.
That would be way too lonely. I'd much rather have her grab a stranger off the street than to walk down the aisle alone.

This is Prince William when my crush on him peaked at about 16, 17 years old. I remember seeing some of these exact photos back then thanks to teeny bopper magazines lol.

Her brother won't be there, she didn't invite them. From what I've read she's never had a relationship with them, and from their shenanigans I can see why!! But boy are they raising hell about not being there.

Her mom would be nice. Some folks are calling for Charles to do it. I'm watching the Kensington Palace tweets to see if they say anything about it.

After he wrote that letter to Prince Harry saying he shouldn't marry her, it's no surprise she didn't invite him, LOL! Well, they say you choose your friends but not your family, but I'm quite surprised the British royal family has been so quiet on their antics. It's nice to see.

I like the idea of her mom. As kind as it would be to have someone's from the groom's side to escort her, someone from her family would still be better, IMO.

Hee Hee, I would like it if AFTER the wedding they gave her brother a ticket to the reception and a big bottle of scotch. Give us groundlings something to read about the next day. Eh... maybe not such a great idea, but it's getting towards the time of day when I want to go home.

Hmm. There are rumors that Camilla was being insulting behind the scenes because Meghan is an untraditional choice. And she and Charles went to Greece. Maybe still there? I wondered if Charles took her there to get her away from the hoopla so lessen the chance of any venting leaking out.

There were similar rumors of snideness over Kate, which made some people think this is really how Camilla feels. But who knows. All of the gossip around royals makes me shrug it all off and just wish everyone well. I'm repeating all of that just to say that Charles might not do it if it would make Camilla exasperated, not that I get the feeling he is the kind of husband who values his wife above royal business.

I wouldn't doubt it - I've heard unflattering things about Camilla. It's also been said that William's relationship with his father is rather frosty and it's due to Camilla. And I agree about Charles.

OH, my gosh! That is a blue diamond! just sold for $6.7 million.

    (from the WaPo)

Sotheby’s says two white diamond rings have sold for a combined $17.4 million at a Geneva auction, while a blue diamond given to the queen of Spain over three centuries ago brought over $6.7 million.

All three topped pre-sale estimates Tuesday. None of the buyers were identified by name.

The Farnese Blue is a 6.16-carat, pear-shaped blue diamond given in 1715 to Elisabeth Farnese, wife of King Philip V of Spain. It appeared at auction for the first time after being passed down through royal families in Spain, France, Italy and Austria. It had been expected to fetch $3.7 million-$5.3 million.

Sotheby’s spring sale also included two D-color white diamonds discovered in Botswana. A 51.7-carat round-cut diamond ring sold for $9.2 million. A 50.4-carat oval-cut diamond went for $8.1 million.

I've seen William be very gracious to Camilla. I wondered if he had a better poker face or a better heart than I would have had!! Harry, too.

William has learned to play that game well I think. It's said his resentment is due to the way Charles treated his mom and that Camilla broke up the marriage. Given that Charles didn't love Diana, I don't think the marriage would have been a happy one anyway, but that's just my opinion.
