    This is long, but it's to show how EVERYTHING regarding the van is one of the most ridiculous points in the series so far. It is a prime example of how Scott Gimple and crew try to patch a storyline together, and the haphazard way they do so.

    Scene 1:
    Daryl sees black car with a white cross on the back window take Beth - We don't (nor any character) know what this white cross means - It could belong to a hospital, funeral home, a church, part of those type of services in the military, a charity (the show couldn't use a red cross for legal reasons). Most likely, it would have been a "stolen" vehicle. That would be the norm in the apocalypse.

    Scene 2:
    More than 2 weeks later- In the middle of nowhere, on the other side of Atlanta about 40 miles from where Beth disappeared.
    Daryl emerges from the woods after spending who knows how long there. Seconds later, a car matching the original, speeds by {Quite a coincidence, but OK} Daryl follows it with Carol to Atlanta where they then lose contact with it.

    Scene 3:
    Atlanta - A very large city with several hospitals (both public and religious based), many funeral homes, churches, is a regional center for many charities, has scattered individuals stealing vehicles, etc.
    Daryl sees a white van in the distance with a white cross on it teetering dangerously on a bridge, the front wheels in the air 50 feet above the ground below. Daryl and Carol walk to investigate it because it HAS TO belong to whoever took Beth!

    Scene 4 : The van at the bridge
    Daryl wants to get in the van to see where it is from. {normally vehicles belonging to one location have a parking sticker on the rear bumper or a permit clearly visible through the windshield, but OK} Daryl and Carol are at the back of the van with a few zombies slowly shambling toward them from either end of the bridge {two years into the ZA, one would have a decent idea how much time one would have to get things done}. Daryl climbs in the front and {instead of just grabbing every paper he could find and getting out of there} he begins to look through them. {someone happened to just throw away the registration card in the glove compartment???} Carol abandons her post at zombie watch/van counter balance to climb into the front of the van as well (adding a little more weight to its teetering front) to help Daryl rummage through some random papers. They can't find any answers among the paper, but the answer MUST be on the the underside of the gurney... IT IS! Now however, all the zombies have apparently teleported to behind the van (Daryl and Carol haven't been in there that long). {Now, normally like we've seen many times before, Daryl and Carol would just zig-zag through them killing one or two and pushing the rest away in order to get to safety... but not this time} Daryl and Carol move back to the front of the van and put their seat belts on as the zombies push the van over the edge.

    The van drop:
    Physics dictate that the van would hit the ground on its roof but the van lands on its wheels. -{they even had to re-shoot the scene with another van dropped from a crane in order to get it to land on its wheels because the original hit in a way that would've obviously killed them.}

    The air bags deploy. - the airbags wouldn't deploy unless the ignition was on.

    Daryl and Carol walk away from the van with mere bumps and bruises - {I think, at minimum would have broken backs and have skewered body parts from parts of the car breaking BECAUSE the van landed on its bottom from 50ft- Vehicles aren't crash tested and built for that event because... physics} If someone has witnessed the result of a fall like this in real life or has crash test dummy footage to the contrary, please let us know. Otherwise, Zombie Apocalypse suspension of disbelief can't save this kind of stuff.

    End result of all this:
    Daryl and Carol know the exact location of Beth (how long after she was taken???), because the gurney in some random vehicle, in a round about way, kind of SAYS SO!!!! Midway through Season 5, we still don't know how one public hospital is the only place within 100 miles of Atlanta with white crosses on any of its vehicles. :zombies_confused:

    Sadly, it's most of The Walking Dead in a nutshell. Just the way I see it, and I'm (obviously) not a professional writer.
