When main characters that have been around in most of the comics for a long time die, I just don't like that, because when they die, new characters(mostly useless and stupid ones) come. The people I WANT to die right now is people like Olivia, because she's a kind of new character, useless, and stupid. The point of this thread is that I don't like main characters to die, but new characters.

    For example:

    Example #2

Anyone else think the same way?

Well, I didn't like Spencer so I didn't really care that he died.

But I don't mind when older characters die. They have to die. Kirkman's good at keeping the comics cohesive when a major character dies, and he's capable of introducing new interesting characters. Characters like Olivia are just background characters. You're not really meant to fall in love with them and hope they survive until the end lol.

New characters are already coming in to fill the spots left open.

You ought to be used to main deaths by now. They will always happen. It is kind of important to the narrative. The apocalypse needs to stay dangerous and it is only getting more so.

You're right! I thought the same thing. I was more sad about Abraham than Glenn.

Deaths always sucks but it's the nature of this series and you can't stop it. But I still can't believe

Well the walking dead is a comic about constant death, so complaining about people dying is kinda pointless. The comics wouldnt be as interesting if Tyreese and Lori and Dale and Abraham stayed till the end... And why did everyone like Abraham so much?? I didnt exactly hate his character, but i didnt really like him either. When he died, i was just like "oh, well that stinks" and turned the page. His death had little to no effect on me, and then i come on here and see people still comlaining about it... lol

I just wasn't expecting it, and I thought there was a lot more they could've done with the character.

ehh, i dont know. I judge characters on their behavior (like if they're a good person or whatever). After cheating on Rosita i was just like "Yeah, im done with this guy." lol

If main characters never died, there would be no suspense in the comic. Also, new characters that are 'useless' are the ones who can be the most interesting, because we still have a chance to watch them evolve, and struggle, and develop into useful characters. The comic would suffer greatly if the main characters became invincible and all the new ones died. The comic is so great, partly because it doesn't follow that tired old formula.

While Glen's death was tragic, I was tired of him by that point. Abraham's death was unexpected but not surprising either since the Saviors are not messing around.

I like it when main characters die. It puts me in that existential crisis I normally feel when I'm sad about a beloved character dying. And that's when I know Robert Kirkman is fulfilling his job to a great potential... when it can make me feel this way.

That would make the comics Star Trek.
