As far as a timeline, I'm not that invested in the show...I have a life outside of zombies and WD. BUT as far as my details...By your logic, you think Rick shouldn't have went to go get his weapons when he left them in Atlanta early on?

BTW - I said there is something like 670,000,000 weapons in the hands of the military and civilians...so while 300 is less, 670 is not...math can be tricky for those too quick to shoot their load in attempt to make some internet points...you btw - failed. But yes, they would just be lying around...like in the first season when they happened upon the military post with military guys all around them or when they entered Atlanta and the military remnants were there....zombies didn't take their guns...but they did apparently disappear if we are to believe the scarcity of weapons...and at the CDC...there were tons of military out there, did all the civilians go back into town to pick them up after the zombies killed the military guys and before they got back on the traffic jammed hiway...nope. Logic is a fickle lover, but she always puts order in chaos.

There are plenty of other survivors aside from the ones on the show. If a gun is abandoned, it will be claimed by the next person who passes by. And most guns are probably still in safes. I have numerous guns. I could only carry two, MAYBE 3 in any sort of practical way. So if I died, two (Three wouldn't be worth the effort) guns would be laying around for a brief period of time. But not for long.
