Yeah, I suppose he pulls his own weight like many others in that regard. Is that redemption? Based on the severity of his original act, I would still say no. But it at least makes him useful instead of a liability. It at least makes him someone that I could sit down and have a meal with.

Can he ever be redeemed for his original acts? I don't think so. He can only move forward and try find someway to cope with these actions. What he did stands against what he is suppose to represent and believe. He is the person he portrayed Rick and co. to Deanna.

I think he can be redeemed, at least in my eyes. If he committed an act that put his own life in grave danger to save another person/people, in some specific way, I'd call him square with the house, to be honest. His original act was severe cowardice, but it wasn't exactly evil. Sure, he'll have to live with what he did for the rest of his life. But he still has a chance to level his playing field in the eyes of others, I think.

Maybe he can be redeemed. It would be excellent writing if they are able to do a 180 with the way he is currently viewed.

I agree, but before the writers do that, I'd like to see Gabriel cause a bunch of religious chaos, pitting a group of Alexandrians against Rick's group. One of the things TWD has lacked so far, is religious fanatics creating havoc on other survivors. I think that in an apocalypse, this would be natural.

They did this in the last book, haven't touched upon it ib the comic. I agree in the apocalypse you would have some groups dominated by a religious fanatic. I read several books have had this theme in them and the fanatics are always the antagonists.

Yeah, Jay Bonansinga touched on this, which I don't really consider canon, it was so awful. I just hope they explore this angle with Gabriel in the show. If done right, it could be a very interesting arc.

Yabbut, as depicted as a character, Gabe would have to find the balls to act as any kind of influence over people and Carol, Michonne and Sasha won't lend him theirs.

Yeah, I don't think he'd have much success, moreso as just being a pain in Rick's side. But fair enough, Gabriel dying in season 6 it is!
