Famous landmarks in/around LA: the HOLLYWOOD sign, Griffith Park Observatory.

Might be due to the fact that they're not in Vancouver where most location filming is being done !

We got to see a few LA locations in the premier like the aqueduct. Would like to see a "Pink's" or similar iconic hot dog stand ( probably different name ), but they could build that anywhere.

BTW, there is no CDC, Centers for Disease Control in LA, but there is the US Quarantine Station at the end of W. Century Blvd, Next to LAX. Coincidentally, architect Paul R. Williams was on the team that designed the Theme Building at LAX ...the one that looks like a flying saucer.

We will not see clean ceilings in the hospitals. And WHY?! Did anyone else notice the absolutely gross ceiling tiles in that hospital? I can't imagine being a patient looking at the gross stains all day.

Actual hospital ...well, was. Temple Community ...but it's been shuttered for years. Imagine they wanted that grimy look to indicate a decay of infrastructure and societal decline that MAY be part cause for the ZA.

BTW, Welcome to the forum. Hope you're not food for long.

Yeah, we won't see many rednecks from the dear ole southland either. Maybe some Bakersfield hillbillies.

OK...to piggyback, What places does anyone think we SHOULD see ?

Was nice to see Venice Beach, if briefly. I like Hermosa or Manhattan beaches better. ( I live in a city/town with Beach in its name, but a ways up the coast from LA ).

We should be seeing more of Asian ancestry, too. Think the nurse was.

Any other suggestions / wishes ?

It'd be cool to see a place like Disney...land? World? Whatever one is in Cali, but it'd be cool to see a huge resort/ theme park like that in the beginning of the apocalypse and after the fall. see if anyone holds up there or some shit, would be interesting.

I don't know how they can do this show without ultimately ending up in the desert. Any populated area is going to become a horror show of violence followed quickly by an overpopulation of millions of zeds. If you leave the populated areas of L.A. don't you end up in the desert? My geography is shaky.

Unless they stretch out the build up of zoms.

Depends on where one starts and which direction one would head.
From El Sereno which is close to downtown LA, there's lots of urban heading east before you hit the desert around Palm Springs. Not a way to go.
Heading north you come to mountains and Angeles forest with few mountain passes that would be clogged. Going west there's lots of hills...Granada, Topanga; with corridors of urban. Eventually you run into the ocean.
    South is not an option.

We won't see any sex scenes with full pena....never mind. I would like to see walkers turn up at a movie shoot (norm or porn) that would be funny. The director yelling "get these donks off my set" before getting munched.

I'd love to see a bunch of walkers stuck in the La Brea Tar Pits...

Oooo...that WOULD be cool, but I don't think they head west o Wilshire Blvd.

They probably go north toward the river and Highland Park, then continue past Pasadena, skirting the Rose Bowl, through the arroyo west of Altadena, until they hit the mountains.
Daniel will probably be the guide/ leader, as he escaped from El Salvador in the 80's.

I rarely go to West Hollywood, but there is a club there called The Troubador where this pretty blonde gal sometimes gives concerts.

Unfortunately, there are some local denizens who like to sit at the bar in the back and talk very loudly. I wouldn't mind seeing them getting chomped on by zeds.

Probably unlikely. I'm guessing too far west. Many casual observers would be surprised how seedy Hollywood is.
And again, producers have said they're going to avoid iconic locations.

Hmmm, too bad. Why place the show in Los Angeles and not show all of the fantastic parts of it?

Well, maybe they'll show The Grove, which is a very nice shopping center about a mile south of WeHo. It's upscale but I wouldn't call it iconic. I mention it because that cute blonde singer likes to post pictures of herself shopping there. If they were to film there, maybe she would show up.

Now and again I'm out that way, and I've taken my kids to Disney movies at the El Capitan theater, which is a lot of fun, but the surrounding area doesn't feel safe in the DAYTIME, I really wouldn't want to have to walk around there at night.

I'm wondering if we'll see an LA earthquake ? Could be why the 6th Street Bridge is featured as a location, as it's being demolished ( currently in process ) to make room for a new structure.

They've already started clearing some buildings underneath, necessary for construction of the new bridge.
The existing bridge will be imploded soon. Cites only say 'the fall' of 2015. ( So an earthquake showing the bridge collapse would be in S2 ).

Here's a cool pic of the bridge to be taken down : http://losangelesriverphotos.com/?p=495 .
Note the tunnel where Cal took Nick, and then the Clark's found walker Cal.

What do you think ? Earthquakes and zombies ?
