I like to believe it's Daryl's fault. Because if Daryl had just offered himself as The Governor's personal boy toy none of this would ever have happened and Hershel, Rick and the gang could live in peace without dat stanky redneck.

Are you suggesting that our sweet redneck prince offers his tight and virginal backdoor for someone who isn't T-dog to take it?

I know people here know nothing about love and romance, but I didn't expect this from you.

If it means saving Hershel, Daryl needed to sacrifice his T-dog love and allow The Governor to claim his body. T-Dog would be proud.

If Allen had shot the Governor, then none of this would have happened. Instead, the guy who talked about taking over the prison from Herschel/Beth/Carl/Axel/Carol couldn't shoot him after he killed like 23 people. Everything is his fault.

Herschel was Rick's advisor and confidant for quite a long time. Without Herschel there are many important lessons that rick wouldn't have learned and many moral values that Rick would have never attained. Sure without Herschel Rick would have been significantly more ruthless but he would have lost so many of the heroic qualities that make him such an important character.

Herschel was out of touch in many ways but the one thing he embodied was humanity. Rick ended up becoming too peaceful for a time and he lost his edge behind the prison walls. had he never gotten a taste at what he was capable of, the peace and prosperity that he could bring, however brief, then Rick would never have realized his true potential as a leader.

The prison had to fall and Rick had to become a pacifist for a time because it showed him the downside of this other extreme. It helped him on his way to learning the balance it takes to be a true leader in the ZA. Without Herschel's guidance and a little bit of luck this would have never been possible.

imagine if Herschel had died before they made it to the prison. After Lori's death Rick would be wandering crazy town for who know's how long. Herschel was sympathetic and helped to take the load off Rick when the pressure got to be too much for him. Herschel helped rick to see that at the time he wasn't ready to take charge of the group and that a big part of being a leader is being able to recognize your own faults and to put in place a system that compensates for them. If that never happened Rick would still be chasing Lori's ghost and then when the governor finally did come a knockin, the end result would most certainly not be rockin

LOL, absolutely! The group needs farmers, but you're 100% right, it shouldn't have been the guy trained to deal with bad guys who's never farmed a day in his life.
