Freedom of speech? You can't go out and broadcast state secrets. You can't give aid and comfort to an enemy. Do you feel those are inhibitions on your freedom of speech as well?

Since when is being a “prayerful member” a proper qualification for congress?

About the same time being a barista was a proper qualification?

Or being an iffy businessman, TV personality qualifies you to be POTUS?

Exactly. The point being anyone who meets the government's requirements and can convince people to vote for them is "qualified" to hold the positions.

So no one has to be tactful, respectful or an overall decent human being as long as they get votes? Then trump cant complain about Omar.

O.k., if this is being used more than once, I'm assuming you think I understand what it means. I don't. Your assistance in this regard would be appreciated.

Your conclusion doesn't follow your premise. The first part is true. You can have the world's biggest jerk elected as long as they get votes. Some would say that's actually already occurred.

That, however, is completely unrelated to one person complaining about another!

All trump does is complain about everyone. If trump can complain until he is red in the face, so can Omar or anyone else. If tact, procedure, class or truth are required then it would be required for him as well.

Thx for the explanation! I don't think the last applies to Trump. He's not the one saying "someone did something".

I'm fine with Omar complaining about Trump and Trump complaining about Omar.

Your side of the aisle though seems to say it's ok for Omar to complain about Trump, but it's NOT ok for Trump to complain about Omar.

I know you sincerely and sensibly think it's headine-grabbing and self-centeredness, but it isn't. They are young and idealistic and fed up with the feet dragging. I'm old and idealistic and fed up with the feet dragging, so I can see them in a light not available to you. <3

I’m ok with Trump not agreeing with Omar. But for a US president to tell American citizens to leave the country, because they don’t agree with him, is very unpresidential. And just proves to me that he is too mentally immature to be in charge.

    The truth is out there

Trump was asked about the 'send her back' chants today in the White House, and when asked why he didn't stop them, claimed he did ask them to stop, and began speaking very quickly. Also claimed he didn't agree with it (even though he was the first to bring up the fact she should leave).

In actual fact he specifically paused until the chants died down, and his smug facial expression is the one he usually has when he is being praised about something.

And all of this was in front of the SPECIAL OLYMPICS MEDALISTS.

    https://www.vox.com/policy-and-poli...p-send-her-back-chants-ilhan-omar-gaslighting

Both videos are posted in the article. And everything he says leading up to the chant is bullshit. They take statements out of context or switch them around to change the meaning.

I felt much better this morning when I saw Trump was repudiating and distancing himself from what happened. That's the best that can be expected of him, and I can have hope it won't happen again. We'll see.

Oh it will happen again repeatedly and he will stand there with that same stupid smug smile on his face. All he had to do was light the match. His followers will do the rest.
