C'mon now! That article doesn't say why he was in prison or how many crimes he's previously committed. That's a lot different than someone committing their first offense.

I remember years ago a friend of mind who is a prosecutor in L.A. was shocked that someone got 8 years for stealing a pair of pants. It was their third offense and under the "three strikes" law the judge came down hard on them. Yep, that's outrageous too, but at least there's SOME rationale, in that you should have learned not to steal after your first two convictions.

LOL, the article also tries to make a larger point and says his punishment is proof that blacks are treated more harshly than whites. To me then Roger Stone should be an example of how whites are treated more harshly than blacks.

The article doesn’t say if there were any prior convictions, if any, but we can be sure he didn’t lie to Congress.

We all know possession of a cell phone is a much more serious offense, especially when he was supposed to have been strip searched before being incarcerated. I wonder if the guards lost their positions for doing a lousy and incomplete job? Seems like it’s more their fault than his but he has to pay the price of their incompetence.

    * the article did say he had committed a Misdemeanor, not a felony

*This time* he committed a Misdemeanor. Did the guards to a lousy job? If so, they *should* lose their jobs as this guy was only bringing a phone, the next guy might pack in a gun or knife.

In any event, if you think this man was given too much time and should have it shortened then you probably agree that Stone's time should be shortened as well.

Not knowing what else, if anything, the man in question was guilty of,I would say lying, willfully trying to mislead the US congress is a much more serious crime. Lord knows what else he has covered up and lied about. His sentence was appropriate. At least he wasn’t sentenced to be shot as a traitor.

He was at least convicted of burglary previously, which I found out with 2 seconds of effort. BTW, the judge obviously didn't like him for some reason!

"The judge told Nash, who was also fined $5,000, to “consider himself fortunate” since he had also been convicted of burglary in the past."

LOL, every time someone posts something like this it reminds me that the Dems have become so devoid of inspiration that Trump was elected President. You don't like Trump? Look in the mirror.

Yeah, and this is exactly why prosecutors are resigning and this has turned into such a shit show. Not saying that Roger Stone is innocent. He definitely deserves to be punished, but there's sex offenders out there who end up getting lighter sentences than that.

That, and the hyperbole is so over the top, that it inevitably turns into this black hole of irony and hypocrisy where there's no hope for escape. You want to hate Trump, fine. I get that. But when that hatred extends to everyone else who doesn't hate Trump, then that's not good. When that hatred gives people license to fantasize about acts of violence or put out misleading stories or fictional anecdotes about "Trump's America" just for the sake of making a point, that becomes extremely off-putting.

We have been seeing more violence at Trump events by leftists recently as well. Off-putting.

One thing Trump has unintentionally done that is good for the country is giving us a hint of what the leftist powers that be really want for America. First it was just "Trump bad", but now that Bernie seems to be at the top of the Dem heap? We're getting subtle "Bernie bad" from the media as well. It'll be interesting to see who they really want to put in charge. LOL, probably Bloomberg. Money, if nothing else, likes Money.
