Use this to post any tips, tricks or advice you have for survivors just starting out. After all, it's brutal out there.

    For hacker/cheater problems:
We have a new e-mail address for you to report hackers. Send us their name, the server you were on and a screenshot if possible (F12 in Steam). Make sure you do it the moment it happens. That will greatly increase our results.

Play Safe Play Quiet Don't trust anyone.

    1) Press Q to push zombies away before head shoting them.
    2) = Auto run ( helps a lot in the woods )
    3) On Respawn rip up your shirt and find some wooden sticks for your bow - do this everytime.
    4) Every time you see a berry bush take some berry's and eat.
    5) Stay off the roads on pvp servers - if they can not see you they can not kill you.
    6) Always scout out the town before heading into it.
    7) When meeting people NEVER stand still to talk always move makes you a harder target to hit.
    8) /Loc shows your location on the map in Co-ordinates.

    will add more later

Crouching does work in the game so you make less noise. Also keep an ear out for other players footsteps if you are on a PVP server.

When crafting, find a safe spot, and go prone, otherwise you're vulnerable to attack

Just try to find a crowbar and if you cant , just go to a server with less population. I have been playing now on the rotterdam server and i got a car , a gun etc.... in like 3 hours. A crowbar is a MUST to do anything actually

My biggest tip which has led me to become fairly good at surviving/staying alive and setting myself up with a base and storage etc... is to stick to one area of the map.

    - Don't run to far away from your home/where you are comfortable.
    - Get to learn all the loot locations and then this way you can do quick loot runs and will know exactly where to go for certain items.

For example: I built a base up in the woods next to some hills; I can run down the hill and take a slight right which will lead me to an industrial area which is great for pipes/crowbars/general tools. If I keep going past the industrial, I will reach a camp site which is good for water, food and weapons etc... If I choose to go further I reach a town which is good for everything.

My location being upon the hills means that if I get into any trouble I can just look for the mountain and run straight to it without needing to stop to type /loc etc...

For a beginner I would recommend using the /loc command. Take this command and copy-paste it into http://www.h1z1db.co.uk/map/. It will give your location.
When using the heading 1.5 is straight north, -1.5 is straight south.
    Happy Navigating!

As soon as you spawn rip up both your shirt and pants, go to the discovery tab and learn how to make a satchel. Once you've made a satchel you've got two more scraps of cloth. You can either:
    1. Make a bandage (not necessary unless you've used all 5 gause healing from a wolf :O)
    2. Make a bow with a stick.

Aww, I was planning to finally do one of these but I didn't feel there were enough good links yet. Someone always beats me to creating the "Useful Links" thread on every game. lol
