lol! Well notice I said "older" meaning not old per se, but just...a bit on the older side. It's overwhelming the amount of catching up I have to do.
Actually, the first one ain't that bad. Not a great film by any mean, but could gather something like a 5/10 for me. Second one is trash, and third one is just trying too hard and failing at every attempt.
Why the hell would you need to take two showers? So.... you're telling me, that this movie made you feel SO DIRTY, that you took a shower, and then you decided that it wasn't good enough, and that the ONLY POSSIBLE way for you to be sufficiently cleansed, was to waste your time by shutting off the faucet, getting out, drying yourself off, and then re-entering the shower, turning on the water AGAIN, lathering up the soap AGAIN and scrubbing down your body AGAIN!?!?!?!? I'm reporting you to the EPA!
Speaking of old movies, I absolutely love the John Ford/John Wayne movies The Searchers and The Quiet Man For you younguns, The Quiet Man is the movie E.T. is watching and channeling to Elliot when he kisses the girl in his lab class.
LOL, I saw the first one was on Amazon when I was bored and thought about watching it and said "......, uh...., ""no""". But if you've actually *watched* two of them, I think I'll give the first a try some time. And if Jama gives his thumbs up as well... well, maybe I'll still give one a try. Maybe.
Oh yeah, top 5 movies in no particular order: The Wizard of Oz The Godfather Dawn of the Dead Swing Time Galaxy Quest (just FUN!)
The Godfather is one of my favorites as well, primarily because both parts 1 and 2 were classics all on their own. In some ways I like part 2 better though. Other than that I have a hard time listing 5 films, because I really have so many of them close together, but The Godfather 1/2 stands out at the top for me.
I know what you mean. Off the top of my head now I also could have added Mary Poppins, the long version of The Fellowship of the Ring, The Music Man, Aliens, etc. Maybe it's just the mood one is in at the time that comes up with one's "five favorites", but it's kind of fun in its own right to put my nickel down and come up with five as asked, regardless of how true those five would be tomorrow. On the Godfather specifically... mabye 2 was a better movie as movies go, but 1 would win out for me because of the overall experience of it. Multi-generational, multiple countries and lifestyles, the drama of family and the choices people have to make, the realism with which he portrays them... it's really an epic work, IMO.
When you've got time, watch the first one, at least! It's nothing like Scarface or something like that, it's more the story of an immigrant family, and an excellent movie.
I like so many things I can never do these "5 favorite" type of things. To pick just 5? The pressure is too much!
