I think this proves that the door is now open to not really "combine" the two series, but connect them via radio. With Morgan using a radio to call out for people and we see them raise a large antenna, I think this connects to Eugene's signal booster.

I'd bet we hear Morgan on the radio in tonights finale.

 

It will be interesting to hear the voice. Although my personal guess is that they are showing all the radio stuff in this trailer as a fake-out, and that the voice we hear on the radio will be unrecognizable and eventually turn out to be a Stephanie counterpart. But we may know more in a few hours

 

Looks promising, although trailers are designed to look promising . I'm going into this optimistically, hoping they learned a few lessons from 4B. I actually haven't been keeping up with updates and spoilers about S5 much at all. I will catch up on that now that TWD S9 is over.

Eh, I don't know. 4B has me so jaded.

When I watch the trailer I see:

Cool gags with walkers, though we have seen those same gags play out on TWD. The walker heads is just too damn much like the whisperer stuff right now. And the walkers tethered across the road - episode 616 of TWD. Again, me being jaded.

A surprise pop up of Daniel which I guess I am supposed to be super stoked about but really, how many time is this man going to disappear only to miraculously find the group again?

Dwight finds Morgan. Okay, I can buy that Dwight set off on his journey to find Sherry. But why Texas? In the 818 finale Dwight goes back to his house only to find evidence that Sherry was there. She left him a note with the infinity symbol and the word honeymoon. Perhaps they honeymooned in Texas and that is how he ends up there. But does everybody realize how big Texas is? In the middle of the night Dwight just happens upon Morgan? Again just too convenient. And again, I am jaded.

 

But other than that it was okay

I had been a FTWD defender and 4b was so disappointing. There was nothing really to like about it. The new characters were uninteresting or downright awful. Even the story lines with the characters that were somewhat likeable were so riddled with unlikely coincidences and stretches that it was ruined for me. And most of the story poor too. The characters acted stupid. Above all, I thought the new villain was embarrassingly bad. The plot contrivance of the 500 MPH winds from a hurricane 100 mile inland was so ridiculous. So was super gator.

I hope it gets better, I liked it up until then. But I am not so sure since it seems to be relying on a lot of unlikely occurrences again.

 

Two things I’ll say:

One...the machine gun truck would not have made that hard brake and turn without flipping.

Two.... I’m hopeful with a Charlie development and June and Jon.
