Agree with this. Best examples for me were Ben Howard's Oats in the water and especially Last Pale Light In The West by Ben Nichols.
    And obviously anything Beth sings.

Don't see a new thread like this...

I was driving the other day listening to Manchester Orchestra's "I can feel a Hot One" and was thinking, if Glenn is the one who is killed, that would be an excellent song to play in the background during the seen of the different people experiencing the death/mourning after stuff...There is a line in there even about "The Lord shown me dreams of my daughter, she was crying inside your stomach...and I felt love again"...They are also a local band to Atlanta...and are just awesome guys.

I could feel a hot one taking me down
For a moment, I could feel the force
Fainted to the point of tears
And you were holding on to make a point
    What's the point?

I'm but a clean man, stable and alone man
Make it so I won't have to try
The faces always stay the same
So I face the fact that I'm just fine
I said that I'm just fine

    I remember, head down,
    After you had found out
Manna is a hell of a drug
And I need a little more, I think
Because enough is never quite enough
    What's enough?

I took it like a grown man crying on the pavement
Hoping you would show your face
    But I haven't heard a thing you've said
In at least a couple hundred days
    What'd you say?

I was in the front seat, shaking it out
And I was asking if you felt alright
I never want to hear the truth
I want to hear your voice, it sounded fine
    My voice, it sounded fine

I could feel my heartbeat taking me down
And for the moment, I would sleep alright
I'm dealing with a selfish fear
To keep me up another restless night
    Another restless night

The blood was dry, it was sober
    The feeling of audible cracks
And I could tell it was over
From the curtains that hung from your neck

And I realized that then you were perfect
And my teeth ripping out of my head
And it looked like a painting I once knew
Back when my thoughts weren't entirely intact

To pray for what I thought were angels
    Ended up being ambulances
And the Lord showed me dreams of my daughter
She was crying inside your stomach

    And I felt love again

Thanks. I have some of the soundtrack links off youtube etc but could not find this one or knew what it was until I saw the digital trivia. It is achingly sad/dark ( and I hope not suicide ideating) but it did make me cry during that Denise sequence so I wondered who the artist was. Very sad almost too much so ( and I have a few Lana Del Rey tracks) but this is a little too beautifully disturbing.

here is one playlist I have bookmarked. Drat just the hyperlink is coming up but hopefully works. My favs still are Blackbird Song ( also ended up buying Stone from this fella) and Regulator. SpaceJunk is usually not available on youtube but it sounds so good in TWD S1.

It's so funny that you mentioned Lana...I could see her doing this. It also reminds me of the 90's band The Sundays. I was knee deep into them because of the octave range the lead singer had...and very dream-like lyrics.

it reminds me of Mazzy Star, too.

PJ Harvey, Patti Smith and Lucinda Williams.

Love the Sundays. As for Lana, her track Born to Die is a masterpiece in arrangement and lyrics even if the only one that can be considered so.
Sundays remind me of a band called Saint Etienne, probably most famous for their soundtrack to Volver ( Almadovar film) Good Thing (link below).
TWD has excellent taste in music and anything they use just blows up in sales. I discovered many artists through their tracks, like Lee: had not heard of him before as I don't watch Idol etc. How great if they used some of our favs.

Walker97 I saw your post a while ago about a suitable song for Glenn.
There was no track in S701. Probably no time but I thought they could have done something in the slow mo or when Rick got into the RV.

Not sure why Simon & Garfunkel came to mind.
Either Sound of Silence because many people identified with it during their shock and speechless despair at Kennedy's assassination. I know it is very tied to the Graduate but I often listen to it in the context of collective inability to communicate when there are no words to express despair (probably how I felt after the gorefest and sadness).

Also Bridge Over Troubled Waters is a nice one. About life being a troubled water - here is a bridge because the ending scene was about we still have each other and we should mourn over dead who have crossed over.

Would be nice to know if you still like the choice you posted and if anyone had thoughts about the soundtrack/possible track and lack thereof? it was such a momentous watershed in TWD that I missed it having a track.

Just because - it is November and it is raining in London.

If i ever get the chance to meet Slash gonna ask him if he didn't feel like a d£&k standing in the middle of the desert hair blowing, shirt open playing an unplugged electric guitar. My guess would be, yes.

I'm too lazy to watch, but is the video with Stephanie Seymour (who was Axl's GF, at the time)?

yep, that's the one. Morbid vid but great guitar solos. Now with Prince gone, we have to value the good ones still left.
