Word up everyone, obviously you can tell i'm a newb on this forum but i'm a long time reader, first time poster!

My question is, what TV do you use for your gaming/COD experience? I'm in the market for a new TV and the main specifications I require is for it to be awesome for gaming and specifically online gaming.

As in what size, model, make, HDMI connections, response times?

The best gaming HDTVs are generally evaluated for:

•Performance levels for handling fast motion graphics with minimal lag (response time)

•Ability to display deep black levels

•Ability to display vibrant colors and crisp graphics

Currently I use a generic 28 inch HD panasonic, but i want more!!!!!

I have the most awesome TV known to mankind!

    Samsung 42" PLASMA. 720, 60Hz.

I know there are "better" TVs stat wise, but this TV is AMAZING.

I've been reading up on it and its looking like the response time is critical to a good TV? With a gaming mode on the TV helping too?

I switch between a 55" Panasonic Plasma and a 58" Panasonic Plasma depending on which room I am in. 75% of the time it is on the 55".

I also have played on my 70" DLP (hitachi), 32" LCD (Sony), 42" LED/LCD (Philips).

By far the plasma's have the best picture for Black Ops 2 of the televisions I have used. Just my experience, your mileage may vary.

I use a 37" LCD HDTV. It's perfect for gaming because it doesn't strain your eyes to much looking around for enemies.

Sadly I am still playing on a tv that's over 20 years old that my parents bought with a crack in the side for a discounted price. Everything works fine on it but the screen is so small I can't see the vote map screen between games lol.

    I use a 52" Samsung 650 Series TV... it's old... but it's nice... the 120hz helps out...

I might switch to a more competitive set up and I heard many players praise this monitor:

    http://www.viewsonic.com/us/monitors/vx2753mh-led.html

But I debating if I want to go down that route or just enjoy my more casual setup... if so, I might look at a larger LCD... 60" plus :D

Honestly - LCD is better than Plasma even if plasma gives the illusion of being better.

The key I think is to find a low MS response.

Also I noticed very little difference between 240 and 120hz... but I'd make sure to buy a TV that has a on/off button for the hz...

Nothing worse than watching a movie in 120hz...

And I personally believe that Samsung has the best TV's out there...

Also, don't spend too much money on a TV!!! The new 4k and 8k TVs will be out soon.... (and by out I mean at a reasonable price since they already are out)

I currently run the lowest input lag asus monitor I could find.. I forget the model, but its the one that was last years mlg one. I know its off topic since your looking for a tele, but the resolution and color of a monitor can't be touched on a tele.

If you have your heart set of a tele theres a few basic things you want to remember. input lag is what you want to be low...response time is low on all televisions. Also there is not many manufactures that list the input lag value of a television as its a much more select group that cares. Dont go over 42" as you'll hate it for any competitive gaming. Plasma tv's in general have the lowest input lag of the bunch, with many lcd's being horrible (even in game mode).

many of the better televisions for input lag are still in the 50- 160 ms range, whereas most monitors are 8-30 ms.

best place for info is avforums.com , crazy wealth of tv/monitor info there as well as input lag tests for many models.

I have a 42" Vizio LED Smart HDTV. Not a bad TV at all. 1080p/120hz, the picture is very nice and there are different modes for movies/gaming/sports etc.

    I have a 55" Samsung LCD 600 Series.

That would be totally e-flex worthy if it were 2 years earlier.:eyebrows:

You guys play on some big screens. I play on the ASUS VG238H which is basically the LED Version of the VH236H. I chose because it's an affordable monitor with sufficient specs. I thought about getting a BenQ monitor for $500 but I didn't know if it was worth it or not so I just got an ASUS.
