Blops 1 by far for me. I enjoyed most of the maps.

I've never really played WaW or MW2 but I LOVED the BO1 maps!

How can some of you actually enjoy Treyarch's boring-ass approach to maps? 90% of them are symmetrical flip-flops.... not to mention the 'invisible walls' around most objects that you should otherwise be able to climb or jump onto.

Symmetrical maps are boring and lazy. Period.

I'd say either World at War or Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. COD 4 was great because all the maps were relatively small, and there was always so much action going on. WaW''s map size was varied, but had a good design to them and were great fun for Search and Destroy.

I voted MW3 because I enjoyed nearly every single map. Prior Call of Duty's never appealed to me too much in the map department, but MW3 seemed to have it all for me.

Black Ops 1 had decent maps as well, but MW2, had some of the worst maps, plus they had to repackage some of the better ones from COD4. Lame if you ask me.

Just because it's symmetrical doesn't mean it can't be enjoyable. Look at Highrise - that map was a fan favourite in MW2 and it was as symmetrical as symmetrical can be. The reason it was popular was because it has great lines of sights with multiple flanking routes and catered for pretty much every playstyle. The design was fantastic while also being very simple.

Plus half the maps in CoD4 were symmetrical also, but most people hold them in very high regard.

I'm not saying that symmetrical maps cannot be enjoyable.... I'm saying that symmetrical is boring and lazy. There are some symmetrical maps that I, too, enjoy.... but overall, they begin to all "play" the same.

As for CoD4 maps.... The "popular" ones that they rehashed for MW2 were not the symmetrical ones: Crash, Overgrown, Strike, and Vacant.

WaW. Some maps where to big for just 6vs6.
But design wise they where the best. Not to much rubble unless it was a rubble map like dome.
From the modern day it's between cod4 and bo1

I wonder if a lot of the voters for BO1 have even really played MW2. No contest, IMO.
