Haha, well I'm a college student so I don't get to drive what I want to, lol. I drive a small 2007 Chyrsler. Gets decent gas mileage and works as a college car.

What I would like is something like an Infiniti G37x or maybe an Acura TL. One of those is what I'd like to get once I'm done with school and have a job, maybe. Those cars are pretty sweet, and are not too terribly expensive.

Well here every Asian that directly comes from Asia either drives a BMW, Mercedes-Benz or maybe an Audi.

Rich college kids in general? I'd say cars that are just as nice as their parents' cars. The ones listed above plus Lexus, Acura, and just band new cars in general. Then you have the poor (literally) sap who drives a rusty junker.

    What do you drive?

I always picture that scene in Fast and Furious Tokyo drift, with that rich kid in his Viper when i think of College/students in the US.

It varies, majority of cars are like mine, niether new nor old, not super fancy, just a dependable car. A lot of students have Honda Civics.

But yea, I know where you're coming from with that scene. It's not like every student drives a sport/luxury vehicle. Most are just mid-size sedans that are dependable.

What for engine does your Mitsubishi Evo have in it?

Here it's Si, not Type R. (I'm assuming) Anyways, they range. Some are new some older. I don't see too many Civic Si's. A lot are just your basic Sedan. You get a pretty nice car for a good price with them, so it only makes sense that they are common.

Ahh rigth we dont have the saloon Civis in the UK, they are all hatchbacks as far as im aware.

Its a standard 4 cylinder 2litre turbo 342BHP. Hoping to sell up soon because its costing me an arm and a leg in repairs at the moment.

So hatchbacks are a pretty common thing there then?

My car has a standard 2.4 liter 4 cylinder. I wanted the V6, but this suits me for now.

    This is my car.

Nice, you like your big engines over there, front wheel drive?

2.4litre over here would cost a fortune to tax every year, so people tend either go for a deisal or stick to under 2 litre petrol.

Yeah hatchbacks are everywhere Ford Fiesta's, Ford Focus Golf's, Renault Clio's etc..

You do any street racing over there?

Yea, we like our big engines and yes either front wheel or AWD. And here hatchbacks are considering slow little girl cars, unless its suited up with some nice rims and at least an engine with turbo.

Street racing? Yea there's some. The only street racing I do is on my way to work and class on the interstate. ;) I make my 4 gerbils (cylinders) work at only 173 ponies. You have to have either a large supercharged V6/V8 or I4 with Turbo here to do any racing. I've challenged people on the interstate before, some get scared and back off after 85mph or 136 km/h.

This is what America does for fun.

And the burnout contest. 800 hp 6.7 liter is probably unheard of in the U.K.

Nah never heard or seen this before, 800hp! looks wicked mate.

Our streetracing is more of either drag racing or drifting.
This is the sort of thing, this is 10mins away from where i live:

Theres also a nice 1/4 mile stretch down the industrial estate behind these shops, which is where people drag race.

Sweet, we have that too, but if you get caught you're in trouble. Lol. So over there you get taxed if your engine is too big? That's lame.

Yeah your right, usually theres lookouts for the police, everyone hoots there horns if they are near by.

Yeah tax is based on emissions co2 levels. Unfortanatly even my 2litre EVO i have to pay nearly £500 a year in road tax :-(

Which is another reason why im selling up soon.

Yea, that is lame. Here the only benefit of driving an economy car is less money spent on gas. But that doesn't stop a lot of people from getting their SUVs and trucks. Even their full size V8 sedans that get about 20 mpg.
