I was really confused about who Brandon was too, and am sincerely happy that he was disposed of already (although not soon enough unfortunately).

 

In the comics he was Tammy Rose's son. Tammy's husband was not Earl, but rather a man named Morton Rose. Brandon was a bully who got beat up by Sophia and Carl after he bullied another boy. His father Morton tried to kill Rick because he didn't agree with how Rick was dealing with the Whisperers. Rick killed him, and as revenge his son Brandon let Negan out of his cell. For the show they just remixed the character as Negan's guard, and apparently he wasn't even the one who let him out of the cell.

 

Well, I too have a question about Brandon. Who the **** was his dad? It seems like he was someone from the Saviors, a big Negan fan... ?

Maybe he was buddies with Justin (Savior bridge builder who bullied young Henry)

He said to Negan "my dad used to tell me you did this...you did that..." When did his dad tell him these things? Pre Negan's capture or post Negan's capture?

I can't picture it happened after the saviors were taken down and Negan was captured because I don't think his dad can show him how to whistle like Negan did without someone in Alexandria overhearing and bringing trouble. It had to be way back.

...and whatever happened to the savior girl with the bar code on her neck is she still around?

 

Oh yeah, I was thinking last week she was the one letting Negan out. She was one of Negan's lieutenants.

Naw, Laura is fully reformed, we even saw how good she was in 9x02/9x03 trying to stop the rebellious Saviors at the bridge work camp. I think it was Carol who let him out. To get everyone focused on the Whisperers again, and not Negan.

 

We do not know who Brandon’s dad is.

In 10x05, Brandon said to Negan that Rick “killed our parents, dragged us to Alexandria” making it sound like his parents died during the war in Season 8, and he was among the Sanctuary children to be re-located to Alexandria and adopted by the residents. Look at Frankie (she adopted Alice) and I think Scott (he may have adopted Marcus? It’s not clear). So every time Brandon mentioned his dad, it could’ve been either his dad pre-war or his adoptive dad telling him about Negan and what he was once like (since Negan has been to Alexandria a couple times/Alexandrians battled against Negan at the Sanctuary in 8x01 so the father could have seen/heard Negan speak multiple times).
