I'm guessing it was Abraham. I just rewatched the scene with my headphones on, it certainly sounds like him. And when we see Eugene starting the fire with the battery, he doesn't move his lips whatsoever (Yeah I know humming, but there might slight movements).

As for the reason... a song he used to sing to his wife and kids? It was right before he decided to do the nasty with Rosita so if it was for his wife, shame on you Abe

 

Abes signal To Rosita that not only is he a hummer but wants one too.

 

I thought it was Eugene as he went about his busy work with the battery.

 

I actually didn't think it was any character, but rather just background music lol. But at one point, it sounds like the hummer says 'walking dead'.

 

It was Beth.

 

I know people have issues with the flashbacks, or the water hose, or whatever, but what really annoyed me last episode was the humming.

 

I thought it was kind of soothing. I'm pretty sure it was Eugene though.

 

I was curious about that, too, and what decided me that it was Eugene was when Abe and he hop into the fire truck's cab. The humming starts, but Abe's talking, so IMHO it's either Eugene or nobody.

 

I just watched part over with closed captions on but it didnt say who was humming. Just "humming" then later "humming continues". Occasionally they will have who is talking but more often than not they dont. i did notice a couple things I didnt hear when watching. A couple times they had "crickets chirping". When bus crashed it said Abraham : "bitchnuts". I didnt hear him say that when I watched before.

 

Bitchnuts!?! HaHaHA. I'm adding that one to mongrels and grubs.

 

It would have been fun for the person to hum the walking dead theme tune.. hm-hm-hm hm-hm-hm hm...

 

Sometimes the hummer [yes, hummer] actually formed a few words. You can see Eugene's mouth while a few words are being said, and its not moving. And it seemed way to deep to be Eugene's hum. And really, no one else heard the hummer say something which sounded almost exactly like 'the walking dead'? Its near the end of the hum when someone [Glenn, I think] walks over to a window. Suddenly a few words are formed out of the hum and it sounds just like walking dead.

 

Ms. Mcleod or Glenns unborn poop would be my guess.
