Why didn't Rick take the tomato bush?

    Instead of taking some tomatoes and cucumbers with him, Rich could have taken the entire bush, so they could have fresh tomatoes every day at the prison.

    If you pull a tomato plant out of the ground, it dies. You can't replant it somewhere else and expect it to grow tomatoes. It is an annual, not a perennial.
